The Stork Club has been around since I've been a kid. It is a well-known summer treat spot for both the towns folk and cottages. It is becoming pricey but they have lots of hot and frozen treats to indulge on. They've cleaned the place up and it with the bright colours it's still a unique staple to Hanover. The food is good. The service can be slow when busy. I'll go again this summer. View all feedback.
What Dandre Kshlerin doesn't like about Stork Club Cafe:
As a landmark restaurant with history that spans generations in the Hanover area, I'm amazed that people still go there. The food and ice cream portions have greatly decreased over past few years...with the quality of the food along with it. Almost the entire menu is processed food, and is deep fried in oil so dark and old that it might have come out of an old Ford truck. I'm guessing that the only way they're servin... 2 of my daughters and I went to the stork club at 7:45pm (they are open until 9) so it's not like we showed up 20 minutes before close. We ordered $50 worth of food and the younger girl who took our order was obviously irrated we were ordering hot food.she acted like we were taking to long to order...I can't help the menu is overwhelming, there is WAY TOO MANY OPTIONS. She blatantly was glaring at us and didn't say thank you after taking our money, not 1 smile. When she brought us our food she set the plates down heavily and never offered condiments, I got up and got them myself. I sent the owner a private message and I received a reply back that was courteous enough but excuses were made, the girl called in sick the next day? I have worked service sick and have never been out right rude to a customer and then she says some things are out of her control? Actually hiring and keeping friendly staff is 100% in their control! If I owned the establishment and someone told me an employee was that rude I wouldn't make excuses and a firm talking to would definitely happen. (Let's hope that did happen) after talking to others this SAME girl has been rude to them to, so the sick excuse is out the window. I was offered a free ice cream cone, which I will not be taking them up on the offer. All I was looking for was an apology and assured the matter will be dealt with. Not an excuse or explanation as to why someone thinks they can be rude to paying customers or free ice cream. Sadly I will be driving the 15 minutes to Riverside in Durham, better staff, better pricing, and better food!
This is a fried food place. They have the best selection of icecream in the area. They also have frozen yogurt.
This is a pricy place to eat has some good food ice cream more known for its ice cream but ask how much it will cost before u order the price may shock u as it did me
There are so many flow ours of ice cream in this store it is difficult to know what to chose so you need to go several times during the summer.
The first time I walked into this place it was so cool. It brought me back to when I was a kid.. Retro candy and great food!! Fun place for the whole family.
