Artisans Oak is by far the best pizza place in Hanover. The dough is fresh and never frozen and I would suspect that they make the dough themselves, which is easy to see that fact in view of most other pizza sites freeze their dough. If the dough is frozen, you can also get a frozen pizza from the grocery store. And the fact that it is made in an open flame pizza oven... makes it absolutely the best. On a page addres... What User doesn't like about Oak Hanover:
The pizza is pretty good and ingredients fresh and tasty. Many choices on the the menu and the coffee martini drink was awesome ?. An advise: they should work on the pizza size. For what we pay, the size sure satisfyingly serve an adult... I would give a 5 stars. otherwise. View all feedback.
I stopped by for a nice meal and was pleasantly surprised to find out that Tuesday is pizza night. The pizza was delicious and cooked in a wood-fired oven. The prices are a bit higher, reflecting a more upscale atmosphere. Overall, it was really good pizza. Food rating: 5/5.
Their custom drinks are quite good, but I wouldn't recommend asking them to make anything off the menu, even if it seems simple. I ordered a Russian mule yesterday, and it either lacked enough club soda or was flat. Plus, it cost $12—ouch! The food was enjoyable, but we found ourselves Googling everything on the menu since we apparently weren't knowledgeable enough about the ingredients. I also tried the lobster ravioli, which cost around $25. It was tasty, but definitely not worth that price. We were a party of five and ended up sitting at the high-top tables, which wasn't ideal for me since I'm on the shorter side. The atmosphere is pleasant, with cool brick ovens, and the decor features a modern industrial style.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Oak, a brick oven pizza restaurant that truly impressed me. From the moment I walked in, I was taken by its elegant design, which beautifully fuses modern style with rustic charm. The bartenders at Oak were not only stylish but also exceptionally talented at crafting exquisite cocktails. The drink menu was extensive, and I particularly enjoyed their well-curated wine list, offering various choices to complement the delicious pizza flavors. Sipping on a finely crafted cocktail while waiting for my meal added to the overall enjoyment of my dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food: the pizza at Oak was nothing less than fantastic. Baked to perfection in their brick oven, each slice featured a thin, crispy crust and a delightful medley of toppings. What stood out to me was the restaurant's creative twist on classic pizza flavors. Their innovative approach revitalized traditional combinations, leaving me eager to try more of their unique offerings. However, like any restaurant, Oak had a few areas that could use some improvement. The Smoke and Oak Old Fashioned cocktail was an interesting concept but didn’t quite deliver in taste. The oak used in the smoking process resulted in an unpleasant, acrid flavor. I’d recommend switching to cherry wood for a more suitable pairing, or perhaps renaming the drink and omitting the oak completely—I'm sure no one would mind that change. Another minor issue was that some of the servers appeared unfamiliar with their own cocktail offerings. When I ordered the Old Fashioned, I was mistakenly served the Cactus Sour instead. Although it was a mix-up, it turned out to be a delightful surprise, as the Cactus Sour was even better than the Old Fashioned. Nonetheless, it would benefit the staff to have a better understanding of the menu and its offerings. Lastly, the high-top tables at Oak were oddly small, making it a bit challenging to comfortably enjoy our meal. While this didn't significantly detract from the overall experience, it's worth mentioning for those who prefer more spacious seating. Despite these minor issues, my overall experience at Oak was highly enjoyable, and I look forward to returning. With its upscale ambiance, skilled bartenders, fantastic pizza, and unique menu twists, Oak has all the right ingredients to become a favorite spot for pizza lovers seeking a sophisticated and delicious dining experience. In summary, Oak's elegant atmosphere, trendy bartenders serving upscale cocktails, solid wine list, excellent pizza, and innovative menu items set it apart as a top-notch brick oven pizza restaurant. While there are areas for improvement, such as the cocktail menu and staff knowledge, my positive experience far outweighed these slight drawbacks. I highly recommend Oak to anyone in search of an exquisite dining experience and unforgettable brick oven pizza.
A big city high end restaurant in a small town. When you walk through the doors of Oak you're transported to a place of out of this world food, drinks that rival NYC's top bars and service that can't be beat. The picture you see is Halibut in Crazy Water and let me tell you, it's one of the best pieces of fish I have ever eaten. The bartenders are some of the best in the, imo, region. Pricing is a bit higher than the norm in the area but on par with the level of food and service you get. If you're ever in Hanover this is a must stop, but be sure to make reservations or you likely won't get in.Vegetarian options: Very accommodating for different dietary restrictions and needs.Parking: Parking is on the street or municipal lots and it's about $1 per hour.
I had a mixed experience at Oak artisan cookery restaurant. Let's break down the key points:1. Positive atmosphere: It's great that the restaurant has a positive ambiance. A pleasant atmosphere can enhance the overall dining experience.2. Uncomfortable seating: Although the dining room seating was not comfortable, it's important to note that seating preferences can vary from person to person. Some people may prioritize comfort, while others may be more concerned with other aspects of the dining experience.3. Food quality: I need to mentioned that the food seemed to have been reheated in a microwave. This can be disappointing, as freshly prepared meals are generally preferred by diners. However, it's worth noting that without further information, it's difficult to ascertain if the food quality was consistently poor or if it was just an isolated incident.4. Friendly and attentive staff: It's always a positive aspect when the staff is friendly and attentive. Good service can greatly contribute to a satisfying dining experience. It seems that while the restaurant had some drawbacks like uncomfortable seating and reheated food, the positive aspects such as the friendly and attentive staff and the positive atmosphere may have somewhat compensated for these shortcomings. It's important to remember that individual experiences can vary, and it's possible that the restaurant may improve in some areas while addressing the concerns you mentioned.
