I ate here with my family after I came to the city for weeks. the food was ok, but the bbq was overpriced and the portions were not good for what they paid. the atmosphere and the service were great and overall it was an ok place to eat. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shane's Texas Pit:
the service was absolutely terrible with the server we had. we were never checked. we had to fly another girl to help us more than once. eating is okay. the kartoffelsalat is wonderful and I am picky about it, but I used to live in Texas and that is not everywhere near texas cue. I have never ripped baby back and better yet really small ribs on every texas bbq place I was at and I was to many top reviews. I paid $30... View all feedback.
So first from the food was GOOD! I ordered takeout and had to wait a little, but this is okay with me, I wait for a short while and then one of the owners came to me and gave me a gift card for my waiting (extremely beautiful)! come home and find out that they forgot my ribs, they called them and the owner who gave me the gift card took the time out of their day and drove them personally to the house that is 20 minutes away! It is difficult to find such real people and SHE was one! I'll come back if you want you to stay here! You have not deceived!!!
Let me start by mentioning two things: 1. I was born and raised in Texas, so I know what great BBQ is, and 2. I have avoided BBQ in New Hampshire until now. We decided to stop by Shane's after discovering that the two other local restaurants we wanted to visit were closed. I was initially skeptical because of the cowboy decor on the walls. However, after looking over the menu, I spotted my two favorites: pulled pork and ribs! I ordered those along with green and potato salad. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the best BBQ in West Texas), I have to say that Shane's earns a solid 8! The pork was cooked perfectly, the sides were delicious, and the four different sauces (ranging from mild to very spicy) were excellent! Our waitress was fantastic—knowledgeable and full of great recommendations. If you can’t make it down south or west for really amazing BBQ, definitely check out Shane's in Hampton, NH!
I've been to Texas countless times and have visited places like Pecan Lodge. This restaurant is just as great! I've eaten here multiple times and even hosted some parties. I absolutely love the ribs, brisket, steak tacos, spicy beans, collard greens, and mac and cheese. The whole grain bread is also fantastic!
On a pleasant day, we decided to dine outdoors. The backyard has a quirky vibe, but unfortunately, they don’t serve grilled food out there, so we ended up sitting under the canopy in the parking lot. The food was tasty—while it may not match the standards we experienced in Austin (we indulged in quite a bit of brisket during our visit), it’s pretty decent for New England BBQ. I personally would prefer it with a lot less cumin. The service was also commendable, especially since we were the only ones in the front, which required the waitress to make a special trip for us. They offered a good variety of beers both on tap and in bottles.
