Guests rave about the stunning, historic property, beautifully decorated rooms, and welcoming hosts, Simon and Miranda. Upon arrival, visitors are treated to thoughtful amenities, including complimentary vegan chocolates and champagne. The highlight, however, is the exceptional vegan breakfast, featuring a variety of delightful options crafted by Miranda, who is praised as a remarkable chef. With lush outdoor spaces perfect for relaxation and close proximity to the village and Keuka Lake, this charming B&B is a must-visit destination.
I will focus on the breakfast experience in this review. Despite being a vegan establishment, The Black Sheep Inn caters to all dietary preferences. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or an omnivore, I highly recommend giving this place a try. As a vegetarian, I had some new and delightful culinary experiences. Breakfast was prepared by Miranda, the in-house vegan chef, while Simon served us, creating a wonderful dining experience filled with delicious food and engaging conversation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future. Thank you Miranda and Simon for a fantastic experience at The Black Sheep Inn!
We had a fantastic experience at Black Sheep Inn! The owners were fantastic and the food was scrumptious! We wish we could have extended our stay, but hopefully we can do so next time!
We love visiting vegan establishments, especially bed and breakfasts, so we were thrilled to finally stay here. The owners are incredibly funny and talented storytellers who have fascinating stories to share about their journey from the UK. When we arrived, a friendly tabby cat named Hogarth greeted us warmly by our feet, which was a lovely touch. One highlight of our stay was Miranda's traditional English breakfast, which was absolutely delicious and included beans, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and much more. We couldn't resist ordering it both mornings, although there were other tempting options available. We also enjoyed the homemade granola and ended up purchasing three bags to take home (they have a great selection of merchandise). Additionally, the homemade muffins were a delightful treat. The weather was perfect, allowing us to enjoy our meals outside under an umbrella each day. The unique octagonal building features a stunning skylight in the upstairs common area (where the fridge is located) and a spiral staircase behind the front door. The cozy pavilion out back with a fire table was a peaceful spot to relax, listening to the nearby peacock's calls. The owners provided fantastic recommendations for vegan wineries in the area, some of which offered snacks like vegan cheese boards (a favorite of my partner). The Finger Lakes region is truly special, and we can't wait to return.
I stayed at this amazingly cute B&B last September and loved every minute of my stay. The owners are a fantastic and welcoming couple, the property and rooms are so relaxing, and the food is to die for. This is a place I will definitely come back to to relax over and over again.
The Youngblood Octagon is beautiful inside and out. Not only do you get to experience staying in a historical home, but the owners are great hosts too. We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of champaign and vegan chocolates in our room. The rooms are immaculately clean and beautifully decorated with antiques. There are also lovely outside areas to sit, including a gazebo with gas fire pit. The property was walking distance to the village and Keuka Lake. They provide an impressive and delicious vegan breakfast. They even give you a few selections to choose from. Would recommend experiencing a stay here for yourself.
