Really enjoyed a real family friendly evening at this restaurant. The food was wholesome and a great variety. Plenty of vegetarian dishes and more than adequate quantities. The staff were really friendly and parents relaxed as children take to the dance floor to do a bit of zorba. Highly recommended especially for families. View all feedback.

The service was average, there was no entertainment, no atmosphere and the food was very minimal!! Not what we were expecting at all. We paid $50 a head and we're still hungry...... very disappointed ???? View all feedback.
Went with a group on a Saturday night and we decided on the $50 banquet. Terrible value for money , couldn't believe the pitiful portions that were served. It was awkward making sure everyone got enough and no-one took too much! I even asked for more salad , surely that wasn't too much to expect for $50 each when we were given so little food, but no sign of anything extra was served. Our waiter was far "too cool " to be working there or even care about what was going on. No atmosphere , no band just monotonous Greek music playing thru the speakers. Sure, it's home cooked food ,cooked and served in the Hellenic Hall but at the prices they charge , we expected to go home feeling like was had a worthwhile night out. The food wasn't that good anyway , pretty average actually. Some of our guys where considering takeaway on the way home. Disappointing, won't go back and can't recommend this place. Ripped off big time !

I had it in my head... i just wanted to 'go Greek' this weekend. Well its lucky we did. It was the quickest 15,000 km trip back to Greece in a while.... From the table setting to the exquisite authentic home cooked Greek food. They even had my favourite Greek beer as well as a variety of imported Greek wines. It seemed that we were virtually sitting in Plaka in downtown Athens....I wanted to start the evening with everything on the Meze menu but Liz held me back a bit. We kicked off with the dips followed by the Horiatiki salad, Whitebait and the 'flash' fried Calamari, which was to die for !!!! A glass or two of wine then into the home made Lamb Souvlaki. It had to be the most tenderest Lamb I have had for a while... Neil tells me that they only use the best lamb rump and it's smashed with lemon, olive oil and herbs.... This is one you have to try.... Unfortunately, I didn't leave enough room for desert BUT in the end, I couldn't resist the home made honey Loukoumades... I cant wait to get back there again to get into the Saganaki, the Octopus Skara, the Baklava... the list goes on and on.... Do i recommend the Greek Taverna, well I certainly do, and if you don't get down there, you'r missing out big time. Keep in mind they are only opened on weekends at this stage...
