I had an incredible experience at Chip Cartel, where I enjoyed some fantastic fish and chips as well as delicious burgers. I ordered takeout for dinner, and everything was just perfect! View all feedback.
What James Hutt doesn't like about Te Kowhai Foodcentre:
I paid $25 for a small serving of chips (which was supposed to be two scoops valued at $10) and just two pieces of fish. While the taste was good, the portion size was disappointingly small—at that price, I might as well have gone to a sit-down restaurant. Service: Takeout. Meal type: Dinner. Food rating: 1. Fantastic friendly service and delicious food – A+!
The food was terrible, overcooked to the point of being burnt. This is the second time I've had a disappointing experience here. It feels like I'm paying for expensive charcoal instead of a proper meal.
The first experience is always the one that sticks with you! Kudos to Chip Cartel for a job well done. We received a warm welcome at their revamped takeaway in Te Kowhai. The hand-cut chips were delicious, perfectly seasoned with flavorful salt, and paired nicely with a generous serving of Blue Moki, the fresh fish of the day. We also enjoyed a tasty hot dog and spring roll. It was definitely worth the trip from Whatawhata, and we’ll be returning for sure. Thanks, Phillip!
