Luce - Hamden
Luce
Description
Luce’s is a long-established, family-linked restaurant praised for consistently excellent cuisine, cozy exposed-brick ambiance and strong hospitality, with standout servers and reliable private-event service. Diners applaud prix-fixe lunches, homemade bread and gluten-free options. However, popularity brings crowds and occasional service delays; menu inconsistencies have yielded undercooked steaks, briny fish and frozen calamari on rare visits. While many return for fine dining and celebrations, expect variable pacing and occasional item shortages.

I had a lovely and relaxed dinner. The food was delicious and well-prepared, and the service was outstanding.
We are regular customers of Luce. Food is great, service is terrible. We came on Saturday and in the past, we were told for party of 2, reservations wern’t needed. Lisa(the owner) was horrible and spoke down to my wife. Terribly rude, As good as the food is, the way she spoke down to my wife who isn’t white was terrible.
Came here with a party of 7. We had a wonder waitress named Maria. She was very accommodating. We had a prefixed lunch what included our choice of an appetizer, salad, and entree. Just absolutely delicious food. Homemade bread. I had the chicken limonte, mashed potatoes, spinach, bread, salad, and appetizer was fried calamari. I can’t wait to come back again. Definitely a 5 star restaurant.Dietary restrictions: For gluten free pasta I believe it was an extra $4.00.
Luce hosted a private party of about 75 people for us on relatively short notice, and they delivered spectacularly. The service every step of the way was phenomenal, our guests raved about the food, and the exposed brick dining room with festive decorations was a lovely and cozy backdrop. Kudos to Paul and Edwin who coordinated the event. We will surely be back! Highly recommend!
