The space would have been better served by placing additional tables in the areas occupied by these creatures or just giving customers a little more comfort. The middle of the restaurant is...a disaster waiting to happen. There is hardly any room and the wait staff are constantly running food out of the kitchen over the heads and backs of customers trying to enjoy their dinner. Wild game of all sorts is on the menu, but none of it is done very well. We had the duck and it was terribly over cooked and dry. Sushi is also a favorite of the staff, but again not so nice. The sushimi was not so fresh. Bottom line is don't waste your time. Go to the zoo if you want to see animals.
Located in a nice and quite location, this hotel/restaurant has a beautiful terrace for serve dinner and equally good kitchen! The service by Marcel (our waiter for the evening) was exceptional .. He was excellent with service but also with suggestions. Most of us ordered...the Wattkorn menu, which was tasty and fulling. I personal exchanged the main course to fish and they were more than happy to accommodate! If you have a sweet tooth, please try the tasting platter comprising of all the desserts...as a family you would enjoy the sharing experience. All in all this is a place for having a nice relaxed family or friends dinner!
For many years in hamburg and already ate here, we invited friends to dinner in november 2021 on a trip to hamburg. it was a catastrophe! we booked a table for 8 o'clock on 30 november and when we came to the main room, only two more tables were occupied. we sat in the middle with a good social disparity. shortly after we had ordered the other two tables left, we left alone in the main restaurant. our two friends ordered steak and when it came, it was not possible. when the waiter came to delete our tellers, he noticed this and asked if everything was in order. He asked if they liked something else, which was rejected when we finished the main course and the joy would have gone out if it were. he returned shortly after to confirm that the kitchen staff had taken a look at him and it was not possible in the fact! he said he wouldn't ask us for it. but it is not what they expect for a restaurant of this kaliber. then we had our desserts. in the meantime we were the only guests in the restaurant and the staff began to go home. I understand the need, but we don't have to testify. the kitchen lights were then switched off and the bar was cut off. we felt really uncomfortable. the highlight was that a big dog was then let in through a back door into the dining room! at this place we called the bill and we had paid and were around 10 o'clock, 2 hours after the arrival from the building. while the chat went outside the rest of the staff and locked. we had not seen our friends for over two years and had planned that this was a special night. it was anything but!
This restaurant is a very good choice if you want to experience traditional tastes from the region. the value is very good, and they make especially the venue available at midday by offering lower price options. I went during winter (December...2016,) so there was no outside kitchen, but inside is very comfortable (or even more precise, cozy). I took a large family of 5 adults and 4 children, and everyone enjoyed it. it seemed friendly though, I didn't notice many other children there, so I think it's mainly at adult. if they are a vegetarian or vegan, forget it. that is hearty North German eating where sausage, pork, brain and goose the menu rule. I had a vegetarian with me who had the tinted vegetarian meal but was not blown away, although not completely disappointed. animal protection species could not be too sharp on the decoration of many filled brain heads on the wall, although this is more about the history and culture of these types of restaurants. we go to eat when they are in order with classic German food, this place is right at the point. the geese was amazingly delicate and moist, with crispy skin and more perfect soned. there are also other variations of classic pork, sausage and the like. beautiful beside dishes such as calf and red cabbage with rich aromes that mix with the meat. are also unbelievable. I had the red hat, a classic jolled berry pudding, but made by wattkorn's first class boil this was a real tasty bite with aromen that break out with any morsel. you don't have to eat too often, but if you do, do it right! also the personal was attentive and friendly, but not too obtrusiw as I like it. I can't comment on the wee, because instead I had a wonderful German beer with my meal. I didn't have a coffee, but my coffee crazy had a whisper and was pretty happy. I didn't get the impression that it was too expensive, I think I was happy to pay for the worth and the experience. if you want the real North German culinary experience, I highly recommend this restaurant.
My third time here. consistent. they serve excellent North German classic dishes including geese. it is essentially a game restaurant and the consecrated on the wall attest it. this is a restaurant for an older generation; the millennial is not found here. but it is welcoming and the service is excellent. if you want to experience a bygone ära with an authentic atmosphere and eat, that is it.
