This is an old train station and it was transferred into a restaurant/ Café. I used to come here often when I lived in Hamburg and was never disappointed. Just next to the S-Bahn 1 (to the airport and to the main station) it offers a wide range of food, drinks and is open until late, thekitchen closes after midnight.The food is good quality pub food, do not expect fine 3-course-dining here, but the service, the food... What Roger Berthelot doesn't like about Schach Cafe:
The place is nice and being right next to the train station easy to get home after drinking a couple of beers. The food was not that great. I had a cheeseburger, it was only a fried frozen paddy with a slice of not so...great cheese. Clearly eatable but not anything I would recommend as a dish to go for. Asked for two glasses of tap water. In a bill the price for one was Wasn’t any fancy bottled water, just a glass of regular water from the soda machine
We met friends here and ate in late afternoon, can't testify to the German food as we just ordered a cheeseburger but it was pretty awesome can't remember having a better burger actually and loads of chips with it. Staff were very efficient,...so much so that we went back later for a drink and ended up having a wonderful conversation with the waitress Khatera, an amazing lady with an amazing history. We wish her an amazing future
We were staying at a local hotel and this restaurant was perfectly located for the railway station that we used each day of our stay. We ended up eating their times and each time the service was very friendly and efficient. Decent cocktails. The...food was very good and would not hesitate to recommend Good value and a safe bet if you want a tasty meal
First time I have been as I stayed close by great authentic place, pub food to a very good standard and just enjoyable. If you are into lighter dark beers, try their own make which I found really nice. Would highly recommend amongst friends...if you are up for a pleasant evening just to chat be aware though, it is quite loud
Found this place through ratings on trip advisor and was not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was perfect. We were there on a Tuesday night and still had to wait for a table...a sign of a good restaurant and a good...choice
