We were staying very close by at the Cro... read more We dined here on 9 November 2023. Sorry it's taken so long to write this review. I had made reservations on Open Table. We were staying very close by at the Crowne Plaza. We were the 1st to arrive on this evening. We were welcomed with an Amuse Bouche. Even though the receipt says Hefeweizen (Wheat Beer), I received Dunkel as requested; it was the same price. I had 2 very good ones. Other half had Korsischer Rose (wine). He started with Kuerbiscreme soup (Pumpkin Cream soup). I had a salad. For his main, he had the duck leg w/ cabbage more. I had the Scholle Finkenwerder (a local fish) with a side of potatoes. The fish was tasty but had too many bones for my liking so I really couldn't enjoy it while I tried not to miss a bone! I would order schnitzel next time. We both passed on dessert since we were full. All in all, it was a very good meal. We thought about returning on our last (4th) night in Hamburg but decided to just get sandwiches and eat in our room and relax. The restaurant was operated by husband and wife, I think. She waited on tables, and he prepared the menu and cooked. It is a great place, especially if you're staying at the Crowne Plaza!

All tables have flowers and candles, and Even we who came without reservation felt very welcome. We had both starters, Main dishes and desserts, in all we tried 6 different dishes, and all dishes tastes great and the portvinsaus were generous. I really recommend this place, and will absolutely return here on future visits to Hamburg!
