Restaurant Port - Hamburg

Go for the surprise menu, you won’t be disappointed! A nice place for lunch or dinner, linked to the Hotel Hafen Hamburg.

Food here was delicious and the waiters were very attentive even though it was packed. Drinks came quickly and they gave us bread to nibble on expecting a long waiting time. But it did not take too long. They gave kids colouring pencils and colouring...pages to keep busy. Food was worth the wait. We had window seats and the view here would have been stunning had it not been for the rain. I would highly recommend this place.

I took my wife for dinner here and our experience started promising. Soup with ox tail ravioli was good. Then we come to main dish: my wife's fish plate was good but not spectacular with cold potatos. My steak was cooked medium to well done...(ordered medium) and HALF COOKED potatoes pieces of chips). When waiter asked if everything was OK, I couldn't keep quiet about potatoes. His response was that that's the way it has been prepared Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe no cuisine in the world serves half cooked potatoes as they will cause fever, abdominal cramps, diarrhea etc. I took this condescending act calmly as I didn't want to spoil the pleasant evening, paid our bill and left never to return. This restaurant has all it takes to be a five star, but it requires bit of overhaul in food department and a massive overhaul in staff department. I'm sure there are good staff there, but the said gentleman was representing this restaurant tonight, shamefully at best.

To start it certainly helped that we had an outdoor table overlooking the harbor on a beautiful day. In addition the service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. The four people in our party each ordered a different meal, and all of...us felt our food was delicious. We lingered over ice cream, and there was never any pressure to leave.

Hanseatic atmosphere, stunning panoramic view over the Landungsbrücken and the famous Elbphilharmonie. Tasty specialities from North Germany very good price quality ratio. Very nice staff.
