The restaurant serves some Italian dishes, but specializes mainly in Indian food. All of the dishes are vegetarian or vegan with lots of good options. We opted for pakoras as an appetizer and two Indian dishes as mains. Also had a mango lassi. The food was pretty good and we enjoyed it. It's nice to have some more choices for vegetarian food in the area and we will be coming back. View all feedback.

In the hamburger district rotherbaum, in the former Jewish area grindel, in the grindelallee 148, an afghan recently opened a veggie and vegan fusion italian-indian restaurant called manu. take the bus 4 or 5 from the city center (young or main station) to the stop grindelhof or...bus 15 to district eimsbüttel and go up a few minutes (bus 4.5) or down (bus 15.) or take subway u1 to hallerstrasse and go west along the hallerplatz along the grindelhof along a beautiful but historically terrible environment. large selection of dresses from vegan or vegetable table to pizzasalats, Indian suppen and tofu pakoora. no alcoholic beverages. by the way: reistafel is a pidgin for the Dutch colonial rijsttafel. the rice board offered by manu is Indian rice with some goodies and not the Indonesian style plentiful rijsttafel.
If you are looking for good Indian food, stay away from Manu. All of the distinctly different dishes our group ordered had almost the same flavor, and very little of it. They were also served with tasteless manufactured bread rolls no good breads like Naan, Roti, or Chapati were anywhere in sight. The salads were boring and dripping in what was obviously cheap store bought dressing. The soup was a sickening combination of vaguely Indian spices and western vegetable soup.
