Restaurant Mangold - Hamburg

We stayed at the hotel Gastwerk and decided to try the restaurant……unfortunately. The starters were ok but the main courses were not. The beef was not very juicy….probably kept warm under a lamp for too long . The other main course was the special….a pasta with Parmesan and truffle. The worse pasta I ever tasted. No hint of Parmesan and the truffle was tasteless and dry. All in all very disappointing. What was good ….the waiting staff and the wine.

Very impressed with food and organisation we had a pretty big group, and left very happy. Set menu was fairly inventive, all four courses had something unusual to them. Service very prompt and well organised, wines fitted well with the food. All in all most pleasant experience

Elegant restaurant in the old industrial building, in which the old gas plant was previously housed. wonderful food - had tagliatelle with parmesan cheese and black truffles (a special appetizer), then zanderfilet and sorbet; my man had the cow meatinvoltini and said that the potato puree was a dream; both had salate (my was excellent) and he had the valrhona bitter chocolate with vanilla cream, and I can confirm it was fabulous. great service, not cheap, but really good food.

The quality of eating is very good, the quantity is fair and will certainly make them sick. the service is noble, you feel professional everywhere. a must
