Service young and friendly, wooden table and benches in the Austrian Alps spirit, nice but not too much. Menu essentially around Knoedels in different preparations - we had for one spinach Knoedesl with a fresh salad and for the other a goulash Knoedel - both very tasty, well presented, not common and really good. Highly recommendable - we will for sure return to that place. The atmoshpere was also top. D from Brussels

He was there early, sitting at the table waiting for 20 minutes and was not even recognized or asked what he wanted to drink. Some minutes after I arrived we were announced, quite unpersonal and unenthusiastic, it stayed like this the whole evening. The food was good but in this special case I have to say service sells too, and I would not recommend Marend to to the poor service we experienced.

We stumbled upon this place while walking around and we are so glad we tried it. It was one of my favorite meals while in Hamburg. Such a unique meal and so fresh and tasty. I had one spinach and one lemon knödel and along with the salad, it was the perfect meal. I also tried a Hugo for the first time and I fell in love with the drink. Our server was delightful and very patient to explain the menu to us in English.
