Mareas Tapas Bar - Hamburg

Lovely little place with good service, English speaking staff and really nice food in good portion sizes great value, simple pleasure!

I have visiting Mareas regulary during my visits to Hamburg since The food is generally good but they have two items that are outstanding. Lamb chops of very high quality meat and fried peppers with salt. They are both excellent. The white sparagus is...also very good when in season.

The tapas are good and sure, the service team always try their best, even when they are busy (I know its hard to satisfy everyone`s wish in time). Coming to the food, the sauces (Albondigas/Shrimps) are a bit too viscous but tasty at all. The...potatoes are great, salsa rojo verde are great as well. I am missing something with Squid or Octopus, even if its a bit more expensive but thats what Portugal is all about.

The service creates the atmosphere of familiarity and whatever you order lands extremely fast on your little table. It can be annoying that you sit ten centimeter from another pair, but in this place it is not so important. There is something special about the...atmosphere in Mareas that let you simply relax. It doesn't matter if the waitress made a mistake and brought you espresso instead of Spezi. You just enjoy the evening. What can I say. It's a nice place created by friendly people/ who offer you extremely great food.

A special restaurant very friendly and great service, and delicious food. One of the best Tapas in Hamburg and one of the nicest atmospheres. Can highly recommend.
