Unfortunately not authentic Italian, but very Germanized. The homepage says “Spaghetti Carbonara” with bacon ? , egg and Grana Padano. When I asked, I was told that the sauce was made with cream. When I asked if I could have the traditional version of the dish, people looked at me as if an Italian had never heard of real carbonara. I was then offered to use butter instead of cream... seriously?

I usually try not to be too critical about places, but this time it had to be done. The prices are honest considering it is in Hamburg and the location is nice being inside a mall but despite these two things, I’d never recommend you this place and I’m about to tell you why. I ordered a pizza and my friend had a pasta carbonara. I’m well aware that I cannot pretend quality as if I was in Italy, but these two dishes were far away from perfection. My pizza was rich in ingredients, but definitely not in taste, since the whole flavours were killed from the raw onion they put on top. I gotta give them credit for the effort put in baking the crust so well and the amount of ingredients but killing everything with so much onion made it so bad. But the worst part comes with the carbonara. I tried tons of carbonara around the world out of curiosity, but I can strongly affirm that this was the worst one I’ve ever tasted in my life. Pasta and heavy cream. That’s what it was. I’m not expecting guanciale, but the bacon was raw and gummy. The egg, on the other side, was too cooked and “disappeared” in the tons of heavy cream they put in the plate in the end the taste felt like pasta dipped in sour milk with a chewy and sticky texture. Disgusting To finish the pleasant experience, as soon as we finished our last bite, the waiter passed next to us and said “Ce ne andiamo a casa stasera o no?” that literally means “Are we going home tonight or not?”, the comment was clearly referred to us because as he said I scanned around me and everyone was still eating and we were the only ones who had only the drinks to finish but unluckily for him I speak Italian.
