Instead of having breakfast in the nearby hotel and paying 22 euro each, we ended up in this place, where 3,90euro is one person breakfast excl. drinks! [hidden link] The location of this restaurant is splendid near Johannes Brahms museum, the place is very clearn and hygienic, Cappuccion and Latte Macchiato SUPERB!!!!! Bedienste (Nicole LaNGER) is very friendly, quick and enthusiastic young lady!
I had two lunches here between visits to the KomponistenQuartier and the Brahms Museum, currently situated a few doors away. The Museum of Hamburg and St. Michael 's church are also not far away. The atmosphere is friendly and formal, the staff speak excellent English and are happy to explain what is on the menu (currently only in German . The menu seems to be modern German and shows the influence of many international cuisines. There is a daily special lunch dish, alongside other a la carte choices. The vegan bean curry with tempeh was delicious. Other specials in July include: rocket ravioli with strips of venison and a strawberry and Balsamic jus. Or baked rosefish on creamed savoy cabbage with potato rösti. Or Umbrian roast suckling pig with marinated vegetables and rosemary potatoes. I was tempted to an unusual but refreshing organic rhubarb drink which would also work well as a spritzer!! The place is also an ideal stop-off for coffee and cake/tart, and I understand they are open for evening dinners. (I understand the restaurant replaces the now closed Zum Alten Senator.
On our walk back from the harbour in direction city we are stumbled over its very nice and cozy caffe. very nice and warm interieur and so friendly and attentive staff. the cakes are a dream. Unfortunately they close in winter on Wednesdays, otherwise we would have returned to dinner, the 4-course menu they presented looked so good. when they are in the city and in this opposite, they come by to get air, quiet and hidden, they will please.
We just ate our first meal in hamburg. what a little jewel is it too! the restaurant is located next to the Brahms Museum and has a classic music atmosphere. our waitress was very friendly and her service was impeccable. I chose the local labskaus while my wife ordered the fish of the day. both dishes looked great when they arrived and tasted excellent. if they are in the new city of the city, I can recommend this place at the most.
