What User doesn't like about Izakaya Asian Kitchen Hamburg:
Sorry to say. Poor performance can’t keep up with the orders. Staff are blaming the chef of not being able to serve the food. Over priced. The music is load can’t even talk to the people across the table. Food tastes good but don’t go in groups larger than six. They can’t handle it. View all feedback.
Super interesting eating and really nice atmosphere, although they forget our booking we have a nice table. great gin selection in the bar, although the bartender seemed nice, although he a little pretentious to time. but the drinks, where good. I told him I am allergic to tonic, but he served it anyway as he had to tell me that bitter lemon is served with tonikum, but I still have an allergic reaction: the waiter was new and she was very sweet. she asked one of the other waiters to help us find the best suitable food on the menu, as I am allergic for many things and my colleague is vegetarian. it worked great and eating was nice, although we didn't get full after a 7-course meal. so they do not expect to be full, but it is more like an expensive tasting, but we liked their concept and enjoyed most of the inside feel.
Excelent. I wouldn't call it authentic as it is rather a South American/Japanese fusion cuisine.
I've been here twice the first time I absolutely loved it, the food was brilliant, super friendly staff, the wonderful sommelier recommended us a really interesting sake. The second time was the complete opposite the restaurant was almost empty and we had reserved, but instead of being offered any of the nice tables we were told we could only sit on the high tables by the bar, or on another small table near the bar. All the nice tables were apparently not possible for us, even though they were empty. Staff struggled to be friendly and with English (even though we are happy to speak German). Food was still good, but we couldn't enjoy it due to the bad atmosphere and pounding music (DJ was playing at full volume to a half empty room of people trying to have conversations with their dinner partners). We asked twice to move tables to somewhere quieter, where we could hear each other, and in the end the waiter was really, really shockingly rude to us. We decided to leave after mains instead of staying for desert and drinks. I won't be going back, and it's a shame because the place has a lot of potential.
Friday night and almost empty. The food was ok but way overpriced and the portions are super small. Staff is totally unorganized not really friendly at all. We wanted to surprise our friend with a birthday cake but the restaurant refused it and we could only do it but then we have to pay for it. They said it does not fit their concept! Was trying hard to find it.
Absolutely amazing izakaya style dishes that are brought to a Michelin star level by incorporating delicious ingredients and unique preparations. both the skalopp and the foie gras noodle are delicious, but they don't really get the taste of foie gras so if they go only with a set stick with the scallop option. the boar is deliciously fat and seasoned with a perfectly acidic/sweet sauce. the planner with caviar is served in an ice hut that is worth seeing only and the taste fits to the extravagant presentation (the caviar is a bit of a afterthought and does not come through so much, but it is a nice little salty boost). on the robata side are the duck and the king’s cocks both delicious, but the duck is really the taste expression on the menu. the negiri toro is mouthwatering perfect and comes with a bit caviar on the top. the menu is complemented with a delicious cocktail menu.
