Green Lovers is a great salad place with lots of options to choose from, it's not cheap, but they have lots of fresh veggies, cheese, quinoa, avocado, hummus, and pretty much anything a salad-lover needs. It gets REALLY packed during lunch time, so better to...come there early or after 14:00 when the stress calms down a bit. For a vegetarian salad and a fruit shake you'd pay around 12 euros. What Jane Dietrich doesn't like about Green Lovers:
Staff laughs in your face on any critical remark when you ask for a vegan option, as in the menu. A staff member made a really nice salad, rather big. On card payment he said machine is in the basement, you must be Dutch. Day...after we returned, and were laughed at, we decided to leave View all feedback.
Smoothie, fresh juice and good coffee. many options for vegetarian and the possibility to create its own salad mix for vegan
I like the opportunity to create my own salate by choosing from many fresh ingredients including tofu, avocado etc. I especially like the fresh spinate as basic salad. many dressings they offer are also vegan. the portions are ok, only to have an salad for lunch (with a little brot served) the place where I am a bit crowded for the afternoon. they also offer suppening, depending on the daily choice, it can vegan options as well.
In a one week business trip to Hamburg, I ate green lovers four times: once with a coworker, once as catering for a team meeting, and twice on my own. So I guess you could say I'm a fan of this place! And I'm clearly not the only fan, as there was a lunch line every time I visited (various times between noon and 1:30). But not to worry, the line moves quite fast and you'll be eating lunch before you know it. There are various salad and soup options available, or you can create a custom salad by pointing at ingredients at the counter. I quickly learned how to say the various parts of my order in German (mixed salad, egg, beans, corn, mushrooms, tomato, parmesan cheese, balsamic dressing), though most of the staff is pretty fluent in English. Visiting from SF where a custom lunch salad can easily cost $14, the prices here (around 5-8 euros for a custom salad, depending on what you put in it) seem very reasonable. There's some indoor seating but it's pretty packed at lunch, so you may want to plan to take your meal elsewhere. Though if you do manage to get a seat and are dining alone, not to worry, they have free wi-fi! Healthy, fresh, fast, and reasonably priced, this is a great antidote to the heaviness and grease typically associated with German food.
Love the concept: Choose either the predefined salads, or make your own combination. All the ingredients were so fresh, and it was a huge bowl of salad I couldn't even finish it. Please note that theres a serious rush hour around lunch, place is probably best avoided at this time. Then again we came during lunch and still found a place to sit. People dont sit too long, so tables free up all the time. Aaaand theres free wifi. Bonus when you are tourist!
Always lots of people in here. You order your food at the till, pick it up once your vibrating pad tells you it is ready and off to find your seat. As English in Germany and with very little German, challenge here is reading the menu and ordering. I don't believe they have an English version of the menu and I never get the sense that the staff have good enough English to help you out but, this is not a complaint on my part as why should they right? I am in Germany after all. Once I have my colleagues translate and order for me, the food tastes fresh and there is lots off it. A large bowl of pasta or salad freshly prepared for you and tastes great. I always eat in so not sure if they do take away also. As with many establishments in Hamburg, I think they only take cash so be warned.
