Block House - Hamburg

But this visit to Block House showed... read more Don't get me wrong, I've been in Hamburg and in Germany many times and I'm used to the level that locals consider service. But this visit to Block House showed how absent can even the basic level of service be. The waiter had hard times...to bring us more sauce which we asked for three times and eventually waited for almost twenty minutes. The place was full so that is somewhat understandable, but once the dinner plates were carried off from the table we seemed to be invisible. We would have wanted to have coffee and avecs, but the staff just ignored us. We ended up sitting in our booth for an hour and trying to catch the waiters attention. When we finally managed to get the attention we just wanted the check. The food is good, but the service could really use an uplift also the wine list would need some reconsideration.
