My salad was mostly comprised of wilting greens that seemed to have been left out in the sun, along with three cherry tomatoes—one still had its stem attached—some stale croutons, and two skewers of shrimp that were dry and overcooked. When I asked for bottled water, I was shocked to learn that they don’t offer any. Who doesn’t serve bottled water?! I gave the restaurant an average rating solely because of the beautiful view of Lake Erie. Overall, it was the worst $48 lunch I’ve ever had.

Our food and drink orders came out quickly! I had the enormous buffalo chicken sandwich, which was delicious and the chicken was incredibly tender. It came with fries that were decent. I also tried a Long Island iced tea, which was enjoyable. Overall, everyone seemed to like their meals and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We had a view of the water, but it was a bit too chilly to dine outside.

We enjoyed our time at the patio bar while... read more While heading to another restaurant, we came across Hoak's and decided it offered the atmosphere we were looking for. We enjoyed our time at the patio bar while waiting for our table, with cold and delicious drinks served by Dan, the bartender. Once seated, Rebecca took excellent care of us with her gracious and charming service. Our drinks were promptly refreshed, and the food was fresh, hot, and delightful. My wife had a Reuben sandwich, and I opted for a bacon cheeseburger. Although the coleslaw was a bit bland, the fries were fantastic. The bill was quite reasonable, making the drive definitely worthwhile.
