What Avogadro31 doesn't like about The Wainstones:
The cooked breakfast was nice. Otherwise this hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The rooms were clean but comfortable but showing their age. Avoid the rooms near the fire doors as the clank every time someone goes past! View all feedback. What Barretta likes about The Wainstones:
Oh my goodness, this restaurant is incredibly outdated, musty, and damp. It desperately needs either to be shut down or renovated. They tried to give us a room with a window next to a loud generator that sounded like a combine harvester. However, the evening meals were delicious and the portions were hearty. The service was also exceptional. View all feedback.

read moreThe Wainstones Hotel offers a mixed experience for guests. While the cooked breakfast and dinner are praised for their quality and generous portions, the accommodation shows signs of age and requires urgent renovations. Cleanliness is generally well-rated, though mold issues were reported in some bathrooms. Service received a mix of compliments and criticisms, with staff being friendly and attentive at times, while delays and surliness detracted from the overall experience. This hotel remains a solid option for walkers seeking comfort and good food, but potential visitors should be aware of its outdated decor and varying service experiences.
