Unlike the previous reviewer, I haven’t been here before, so cannot compare previous and new landlords. The only thing I can compare is the various pubs around the Market Place, and when you consider that the local drinkers are a Nomadic lot who wander from pub to pub, you won’t be surprised to hear that, on a Saturday night, most of the pubs seem pretty much the same. Decent place for a few beers but could do with more bar staff when it's busy

Great pub, called for a drink b4 races and ended up staying much longer
Love this pub.....we always end up in the Red Bear, when drinking in Thirsk. It's the best for sports with a friendly atmosphere to go with it. Service has always been second to none. Plus the prices are very competitive with what's happening elsewhere in the Town.
