What louisa1956 doesn't like about Roots Farm Shop:
Ordered sausage sarnie. A huge white bap arrived with the smallest twirl of a chipolata sausage. All bread, this together with a coffee came to £9.25! Total rip off. View all feedback.
In a word EXCELLENT. Considering this is a small cafe in the middle of nowhere, the fact that people were happy to queue and wait to be served, tells a story in its self. Fantastic food, cakes drinks with brilliant, helpful service. 25 out of 10. Cyclists love this place too. A really good pot of tea (2 actually) a lime ginger cake, not much of photo, I needed cake. No waiting for photos.
What a find. Recommended by a friend, we finally got to visit 18.6.22. Absolutely fantastic food, freshly prepared and totally delicious. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Mary and Berry were great. We loved it and definitely will be going back. Great farm shop too. Highly recommended.
Roots is a quaint but highly efficient cafe/restaurant a short distance off the A19 between Northallerton, where we were visiting our family, and the Teeside conurbation. Service was speedy but charming and friendly with no sense of 'rush '. The adapted farm buildings offer various shopping experiences and are worth checking for odd presents and cards. While in the area it is worth going to the nearby Dark Star Nursery if your garden needs an injection of unusual, beautiful plants.
Just been for the steak night I had a t-bone for the first time in years and it was so succulent, juicy, tender and cooked exactly as I'd asked. Well worth every penny and we'll definitely be going back.
Great place for a lunch or tea/coffee break. Surprisingly not that busy at weekends. Cafe offers delicious farm food defo recommend trying it! Also can buy some food in the shop!
