Ootys - Hambleton
Ootys
Description
Nestled in a bustling business area, this restaurant serves a diverse range of dishes, from curries to burgers. While some patrons appreciated the friendly service and cozy atmosphere, others found the decor lacking, with cold metal chairs and uninspired presentation akin to school meals. However, the food quality varied; many praised the authentic flavors and generous portions at reasonable prices, especially for specials like the Friday curry. Despite its popularity among local employees, it may not provide the tranquil dining experience some diners seek. Overall, it's a place worth considering for a casual bite.

Amazing great friendly people, unreal curry and daily specials. Lovely coffee and bakes I go 2/3 days a week for lunch love the place
The Friday special at this restaurant is excellent. I particularly enjoy the curry option, which is just as good as any Indian restaurant. There are plenty of other choices to suit all tastes, as well as a variety of good teas and coffees and some delicious sweet options. The staff are always friendly, and the prices are fair considering the quality of the food. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, making it a great alternative to the limited sandwich options available at some takeaways in Stokesley. I highly recommend giving it a try.
The restaurant offers delicious food with Indian inspired dishes. I tried the onion bhaji and salad sandwich and found it to be enjoyable and a nice change from the usual. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Overall, it's worth a visit.
We called for lunch on a cold snowy day. The Scrooge like coal fire flickered weakly. Two guests were standing against a radiator while they waited for their meals to be served. The all metal un upholstered dining chairs were buttock freezingly cold. We had ordered our meals before we studied the scene otherwise we would have left. My chicken curry was served with a jacket potato, no option for rice. My companion ordered a cheeseburger. We had hoped for something more interesting but there was little to tempt us.The meals were served in the style of school dinners, dolloped on plates, no garnish or thought to presentation. A small portion of salad would have cheered up the appearance. The service was friendly, the staff were brisk and business like. The food was mediocre, prices were below average £13 for the two meals with two coffees. Looking around it became apparent this was the lunch time bolt hole for employees from the adjacent business park. It is not a destination of choice for a pleasant mid day break or a quiet meal in an inviting environment. Either we were the wrong customers for this establishment or this was the wrong type of dining for us.
Called in for a coffee and had samosa's and onion bhajis as a snack......WOW they tasted very authentic and scrumptious, atmosphere is excellent and decor is modern but quirky, the staff are very friendly and we will be back, well worth a visit for a proper coffee and a snack, plenty of other food available and caters well for disabled people as plenty of room between tables, keep up the good work.
