My wife and I tried their 'trust the chef ' Wednesday night and were pleasantly surprised. It 's a five course sampler that really highlights the best of what the chef offers. The food was cooked to perfection and seasoned wonderfully. The price was a bit high, however, the quality and variety outweighed the cost. The staff was friendly and timed the courses very well. The atmosphere was relaxing and elegant. We both... View all feedback.
What Gregorio Gentile doesn't like about Latitude Food and Drink:
We didn't even get to sit down. They wouldn't take a group of ten ppl. They couldn't "accommodate" us. The restaurant only had two other couples. Who doesn't want business on a Tuesday night? View all feedback.
After a long day at the beach, we stopped by Latitude for an early dinner on our way home. The service was great and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our meal.
Four people, four different dishes and four different drinks (two craft beers and two wines) - not one fell below excellent. My roast chicken breast with spinach, asparagus and creme fraise was juicy, tender and deeply flavorful. Others in the party had cod, gnocchi on a bed of pork, and salmon. The only slightly false note was the potato bread. We were served regular french bread instead and the substitution not acknowledged until challenged. However, that momentary lapse is insignificant compared with the high quality and dedication to excellence demonstrated by the young chef. I'd certainly return.
So we have Wednesday nights when it's "Trust the Chef" night, trust the chef and have a fun meal...never disappoints if you're a foodie. Went tonight and had the special, half rack of ribs, piri piri wings and fries....it rocked! My wife had the lamb and equally as good....we love the food, we love the wine but most of all we love the hand of the chef...she's amazing....go there and enjoy!
I grew up in the Maritimes eating fresh seafood. I don't usually order it in a restaurant unless I am close to an ocean. In my experience it is usually overcooked. The selections on the menu at Latitude are limited so I decided to give the Icelandic Cod a try. It was perfectly cooked and the best fish I have had at a restaurant in a long time! Considering I recently spent a week in the Cayman Islands eating seafood, that says a lot. My teenage son had a hamburger and said it delicious. The host was friendly and accommodating. I would not call the waitress friendly, but she was very efficient.
