This restaurant offers great value for money. The service is impeccable and you can expect a family-based atmosphere. Don't expect a fancy ambiance, but everything is cooked to perfection. The place is clean and our waitress, Saouse, was delightful and very efficient. Thank you. View all feedback.
What trevorg504 doesn't like about Toby Carvery Resturant:
Overall a pleasant experience however I was a little concerned at attitude of chef when I asked if he would mind a little constructive criticism. In amongst the pots of food was a dish of potato bacon and what I think was onion mushy potatoes all black burnt bits of I think was onions I said that I was surprised that this had been put out for people to eat it looked burnt tasted burnt and was a complete detraction fr... Very friendly greeter, escorted to Conservatory.Carvery very good value.very comfortable nice atmosphere.
Came here New Years day looking forward to a nice family meal. The waiter looking after us was great, really attentive. Drinks came, really prompt service. That's when it sort of went downhill. The lamb my 13 year old was served was literally pooled with blood, my son asked the chef to change it and he did, but I had to go back a 2nd time as it was so rare. We like lamb but this was just too undercooked. Veg was really dry and not pleasant to eat The plates are too small, as soon as you put the Yorkshire pud on you can't fit much else on. The gravy was so thick it was so concentrated and grainy. Love thick gravy but this wasn't nice. The gravy ruined it really, none of us liked the dinner. £120 odd quid later and felt like hard done by, resented paying it. Unsettled stomach for 2 days after. It's literally put me off carveries.
Great food, well cooked and great staff. Plenty of free parking and good disabled access.. Well worth a visit.
I reviewed this location 2 weeks ago been visiting on and off for breakfast and lunch Overall standards of food sometimes lack an attitude towards quality as chef puts out burnt offerings that simply is detrimental to company standards Regularly there is no Marmalade for toast with only one option raspberry jam in a bowl Having products in a bowl for all to use is not hygienic make it easy for cross contamination Apparently the head of the company decides the way they provide these items Lastly staff are pleasant but lack taking much notice of customers request or if criticism is given For example I asked if there was any Marmalade yet as they had been without for over 2 weeks she said she would go and look but stood talking to another staff member for several minutes then didn't even bother to come back with any answer All this takes away from a good experience. If the Brand is going to have constant items missing from there menu then you are not getting value for money As a comparison by the time you add a drink to a breakfast there are many other outlets that offer a lot more for your money than Toby Carvery in general Overall this is a clean but average location which needs to address a few issues on quality and customer service at a professional level as ignoring customers or not listening and acting on complaints will inevitably result in loss of trade
Very impressed, and will come again. High calibre of staff throughout all met were pleasant, welcoming, polite and friendly. Very good value used carvery, and only risk is of taking more than you can eat. Two vegetarians in group, and carvery included vegetarian options. Pleasant environment while we were seeking meal while travelling, other tables had people visiting for an evening out. Had to wait a few minutes before being seated, but once shown to table all was excellent.
