Even when the restaurant was about to close, she kindly told us that we didn’t need to rush and and we can take our time, which we really appreciated. It made us feel very comfortable and welcome. The stuff was very friendly. It was a good station for me during my trip in Hallstatt.

It is an unforgettable experience and just for that I had to drop a cheeky 5 stars

The service was so rude—they didn’t allow all four of us to sit down because this is a “restaurant” and we hadn’t ordered enough. (Note: it’s just self-service and the place feels more like a café, and there are hardly any places to sit. I’m very disappointed, because if I go to a “restaurant,” I expect to be served accordingly. Edit, reaction to the owners comment: I honestly don’t understand how you or your staff would have suffered any financial loss if my friends and I had been allowed to comfortably consume what we ordered. The place was almost completely empty, there was no crowd at all — in that case, I might have understood your reaction. Also, we did order and we paid for it. We didn’t sit there for free — the beer and the strudel were not cheap. Three of us were consuming what we ordered — should the fourth person have been expected to stand outside the restaurant just because they didn’t want to order anything at that moment? Looking at your reviews, it’s clear that we are not the only ones who have had issues with the service. If I were you, I would focus more on improving that rather than responding to comments in this manner. The tone you use when addressing guests in your replies unfortunately shows a clear lack of professionalism.
