Love going to the Lonsdale, especially using a shop-a-docket voucher. Last week ventured out last week for another meal. Had the mixed grill and hubby had the seafood basket. Enormous meals. You've got to be prepared to wait a while as its always busy.I'm also gluten intolerant and staff are a great assistance View all feedback.

I've been here several times for work lunches and also for family gatherings. It's never failed on the food front. The staff are lovely and seem to want to be there (which is always good!). I've tried burgers, fish and chips, salads and schnitzels here and everything has been lovely. The best thing, you can use a shop a socket to buy one main and get the other for $8. What a deal! The atmosphere is great too. Whether you're there in winter or summer, it's just a really nice pub bistro. A HUGE positive (which some other pubs need to get right - Crown) is that you can't see or hear the gaming room. Who wants to hear that rubbish while you're dining?Love it. I'll be back time and time again as long as they keep the same standards.
We decided to try the lonny for dinner tonight, my partner has had good feedback about it at her workplace. Good atmosphere in the bistro, modern look. Could pick any table we wanted which was good. Nothing to fault really, really friendly staff. I had oysters kilpatrick, just a bit too much bbq sauce but oysters were a good size. Main i got garlic prawns which was delicious, wasnt piping hot but was warm enough to eat. Prawns melted away in my mouth - generous amount of prawns too. Most probably will come back again & will recommend to others.
Once again, off to the 'Lonie' for tea. Nothing fancy but the meals are always good, service is good and prices are excellent especially when using the meal deal coupon. Ordered a chicken schnitzel with Mexican topping, the chicken covered half the plate!! Everyone's meal was good, steaks cooked as requested. Good value for money at this hotel

Our family often holds birthdays at the Lonsdale, there are usually at least seventeen in the part, sometimes more. Until tonight we have been fairly satisfied, however that satisfaction is now ended. Tonight there were seventeen in the party, one of my guests order a vegetarian pasta dish which was repeated to her twice upon ordering, however when her meal arrived it was not vegetarian. The waitress told her that there was not a vegetarian pasta on the menu and that she would need to reorder for a vegetarian meal and pay again or the non vegetarian meal could be put into a take away container. Seriously unaccepatable!! I then spoke to the duty manager who was completely patronising and told me I didn't understand. I told him I have spent many years working in hospitality and understood perfectly what had occurred. This manager basically told me that I was wrong and my guest did not order a vegetarian meal and if we paid again she could reorder. Extremely patronising. I asked this so called manager if he was happy to lose a regular booking of a minimum seventeen people when a vegetarian pasta would cost next to nothing to,replace. He seemed very happy to lose the patronage. In all my years working in the hospitality industry I have never encountered such behaviour. The Lonsdale has lost regular customers over this issue, I would have thought this, attitude totally unacceptable.
