Service assistant was there fast, cleared dir... read more I was starving after a long day sightseeing so choose The Split Crow as it was close to the hotel and had a patio. Service assistant was there fast, cleared dirty glasses from table, got me a drink super fast. Eventually I got up and got my own menu, when finally I saw the SA again he explained that he'd have to get the server. I almost left twice! A full 30 mins after I sat down the young woman in a short skirt saunters over asking what I'd like. The food was mediocre at best. Limp Caesar salad. Apparently I won the lotto by ordering the scallops because they were out of almost everything else. Good thing the scallops in this region are so good because they came lightly coated and deep fried and with nothing but a small lemon wedge. No effort but into this meal. I hate when establishments feel a young woman in a short skirt needs to be the face of their restaurant! I would have received much better service from the SA. As a matter of fact he was the only service I received. Come on people, it's 2017!

By this point, we had already been to all the restaurants we wanted to go to in Halifax and found this one on Trip Advisor. It had a decent rating so we decided to give it a shot. Upon arriving, we were told to sit wherever we wanted so we chose a seat near the open bay doors. Our waiter took our drink order after a few minutes and then we ordered our entrees. After placing our order, I saw something out of the corner of my eye, moving around on the floor. It was a mouse!! I told my husband I was ok to stay here and eat, even though the idea of a mouse inside the restaurant grossed me out. There were open bay doors so a mouse was ok I suppose. Our food arrived and it was ok. My husband had a burger and fries (that happened to be half price that night). He said it was ok for a half-price burger. I had the fish and chips and it was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Overall, this was not an enjoyable experience and I would not go back here again.

Last night they had a band, which was super good as well! Love this little place- would recommend and will definitely return on my next visit!

Special thanks to Adrian and Quentin for being fantastic staff members!!! They made me want to return. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I absolutely adore this place! If you're in Halifax, make sure to stop by this pub for a pint and some food. Don't miss out on this gem!

Always feels like home regardless of the time that passes between visits the the city and the crow! A must visit bring great friends , have lots of laughs and sing alongs, a drink or several and stay classy!

It seeme... read more One guest wandered around the whole time we were there maskless and was hugging the bouncer and waiters with nobody trying to enforce the mask mandate. It seemed like a few times he was asked to wear his mask and he laughed and half put one on in jest. We asked our waiter who he was and why he didn 't need to wear one and he said they give a lot of leeway and if everyone is double vaaxed why do we need masks. Not the point when it 's the law currently and shouldn 't be up to the staff to decide who needs to wear one and who doesn 't. Won 't be back anytime soon.

I always like to drink in historic pubs when I can, so I enjoyed that aspect. The music was great, though it was all cover songs.

This is defin... read more As a 21 year old I have second hand embarrassment of the bouncer who asked me for my ID, health card, university student ID AND MY INSTAGRAM PAGE. This is definitely a bit much, especially where all my friends didn’t get QUADRUPLE ID’d. Also kind of feel disgusted because I had to show the bouncer (a grown at least 30 year old man) my instagram account. Do better Split Crow, I won’t back!

Nice sunny patio with good people watching. Staff 10000% I had the razz voddy the Halifax sea breeze cocktails. Yummy for a summer day. Then when in Halifax. Have to try the donair.
