My wife and I have never regretted a visit to this Smitty's. This time I had their turkey dinner with stuffing and all the trimmings. It was generous, lots of quality meat, well presented and delicious. My wife had a tasty steak on a bun...with sweet potato fries (an upgrade) and a Caesar salad. My wife and I went to this longtime restaurant chain and were warmly greeted at the entrance and then led to a booth of our choice.The pleasant and competent waitress took my wife's order of a large garden salad and mine of grilled haddock coated...with egg.My wife enjoyed her salad but I was disappointed with the haddock which was not fresh.The steamed vegetables and baked potato on my dish also didn't taste freshly... Food was amazing. Honey bbq bacon cheese burger with sweet potato fries and an ultimate mozza burger with fries. The tomatoe, mozza sticks and onions frings were suppose to be on mozza burger. Glad I did ask them to be put on the side, the burger was huge as it was, without them. Definitely give them a try!. Yummm!
Very convenient and opposite to the Public gardens. Good food and options. Brunch menu and good quantity and tasty.
I always love Egg Benedict! So I tried at Smitty's too. 10 on 10! So good! Perfect portion, great taste and flavor! I ordered l denedict and coffee. Staff welcomes you with sweet smiles and they are very nice. It was perfect way to end my trip in Halifax!
Dropped in for a hungover brunch today with friends and had a great time. We were served by Kaylie, and she was wonderful. The food was all very good as well. Definitely an excellent brunch and breakfast restaurant! The skillet was delicious!
Always CONSISTENT! Today I was quickly seated and served. Place was empty at the time. Ordered the Texas skillet and it was amazing as usual. The flavour is extremely rich and the hash brown seasoning is generally consistent. Servers were on point with the coffee and checked in on me frequently. Thank you!

The Eggs Benedict was delicious and the service was excellent. The servers frequently brought us fresh coffee and we are excited to make breakfast at this restaurant a regular occurrence.
I love Smitty's at Lacewood Plaza. The food is delicious, always hot, and with large portions. The prices are reasonable too, and the service is superb. My wife eats there at least once a week, and every year I give her about $500 in Smitty's...gift cards at Christmas. It is one of our favourite restaurants, especially for their good variety of breakfast meals.
We have a 2-year-old with allergies, and out of all the restaurants we have eaten at, our server today, Matt, is the best we have ever had! He offered to have the kitchen cook her food in a separate pan and even came back to inform us that the hashbrowns are cooked in the same oil as her allergen, checking if it was okay. It's difficult to find a server who cares as much as we do about her allergies, and we greatly appreciate the extra time he spent ensuring her meal was safe. We have had many negative experiences (reactions/rashes/hives) from dining out, and today was a huge relief knowing she was safe. We will definitely be returning to eat here and will request his section if he is working! Thank you again, Matt, for your fantastic work!
I ordered liver and onions, my wife an omelet. How long can it take to do a simple order ? We waited in excess of 20-minutes for our order to arrive we just about walked out), thankfully the food was hot! Megan, our server,...was fantastic..........couldn't do enough for us. She seemed to be the only server with a sense of urgency in the restaurant.
I have eaten a few times and the service is very hit and miss. Went there last week and the experience was ok. The food was decent enough and the selection is really good. Got a decent watress and the coffee was flowing nicely. The...trip before, we sat there for about 20 minutes before we got menus aor coffee. A waitres that wasnt even ours saw me getting very agitated. She came over and asked if someone had attended to us. I was ready to leave at this point but she poured us a coffee and brought back menus, Waited another 10 minutes for a watress. finally took our order after being ther half hour. Never got a single refill of coffee. people were walking around with a pot but always seems to be empty when they walked past us. When the food finally arrived, there was no apology, no acknowledgement, and no tip. This restarant is next to my mothers appartment building so it is really convinient. Its alwasy busy and sometimes you have to wait for a seat. The food is hot and very good when you can get it. Porr system though. The problem is you are seated by a hostess. If you are put in the wrong place and dont get noticed in the first 5 minutes, get up and leave as it isnt going to improve.
