Reviews - Roll it up
Reviews summary
Despite some negative feedback from customers, this restaurant seems to offer a mix of experiences. Some diners were disappointed with the Americanized flavors and poor quality of certain dishes, while others enjoyed fresh and perfectly prepared sushi as well as complimentary surprises. The pricing was reasonable for many and the service received praise. While the restaurant may not offer an entirely authentic Japanese experience, it could still be worth a try for those looking for a casual meal or a family outing. Overall, it seems like a decent option for sushi lovers, especially for those staying in the area.

What a pleasant surprise this family dinner out was! The sushi was delicious! Very fresh and light. The tempura was lovely and not too oily. Place was spotless. The rice was perfectly cooked. The kids loved the salmon nigiri! And we loved the bill. Very reasonable for a feast of sushi! Next time in Halifax, will go back for sure. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Roll it up:
Ordered regular sushi, got tempura batter coated on fish for all sushi pieces. Tasted and felt awful. Evidently you have to order that tempura NOT be included in regular sushi View all feedback.

We absolutely adored it! It was our first visit to this restaurant. The salmon sushi pizza was the best we've ever had, it was amazing. We were also pleasantly surprised with a complimentary deep fried salmon roll that was outstanding. Every dish was delicious. The service was fantastic. We will definitely be returning when we are back in Halifax and would highly recommend this restaurant.
I visited this restaurant for the first time and was impressed by the excellent service. The sushi was the best I have ever had in the HRM area, and the customer service provided by the waiter and possibly the manager was outstanding. They even surprised us with a plate of deep fried salmon rolls, wishing us a Merry Christmas. This experience was amazing, and I will definitely be back again.
Roll It Up is the top choice for sushi in Halifax. The staff is great, the fish is fresh, and the selection is extensive. They offer free delivery on orders over $30 and fantastic happy hour specials. I highly recommend Roll It Up for a great sushi experience.
Very happy with my first experience at this new sushi restaurant. Short version: service was quick and the food was good. A+, will go again. Things I liked: The large windows lead to a very open atmosphere. I get gyoza whenever I get sushi, and I loved the gyoza here! The dinosaur roll was substantial, no shortage of food. The location is very convenient for me. Things to work on: Side plates for sharing would be nice to have on the table at the start I'd love to get a beer or some sake with dinner Overall I had a great time, and would recommend Roll It Up!

We visited this place on the 13th. My daughter's birthday and were happy that we chose this place! The food was delicious. The soups we got so hot that you knew it just came out of the oven. The ramen was very well flavored.
This place serves one of the best sushi I've ever eaten. I loved the mango and cheese sushi. It was unique in taste. The salmon and Avacado Sushi were so soft that he was simply melted in my mouth. It felt very fresh. The waitress was very warm and had a pleasant personality. She also recommended the offer that went to the restaurant. I highly recommend this place. It's not very expensive either.
A super clean and stylish place to enjoy your collection of seafood. When I was dead for Hamachi, I really enjoyed my sashimi and deep fried roles. Servers are absolutely polite and nice.
These sushi rolls are huge! Price is comparable to other Sushi sites in Halifax, but here I feel like you will definitely get more for your Buck. They also gave us the white dish of Sushi for free! Nice place, good service. We didn't even run out of water. Everything about great experience.
Bright open space, beautiful place, good sushi Got in late at the Hampton, this spot is right across the street. On a Wednesday night in an hour we saw almost a dozen Skip the dishes food delivery pickups this is clearly a condo dweller favourite. The sushi is a little overpriced but it’s clear they take meticulous pride in their food. See other reviews, quality is their superpower. Salad dressing was complex and surprisingly citrus. Beef sashimi had a spicy bite and deep umami flavour. I had a sushi/sashimi combo and LOOK at my pictures the cut of Salmon is thick and divine. Rolls were good and creative I hear from the Hampton staff people get the party trays for pickup daily. Actually the actual restaurant is very open and decorated thoughtfully. Brought a little peace into our hectic day with small kids.
