What Shawn Tandon dislikes about Bonehead's BBQ:
Food wasn't very good. Pulled pork was only thing that had flavor, everything else was bland or just average. The worst was the brisket! Absolutely bone dry and no flavor whatsoever. Possible the worst I've ever had.Staff was very friendly however. View all feedback.

The service was not very friendly. But the portions were very generous the ribs were undercooked and way too salty. But the pulled pork, brisket and sides were amazing. Prices are reasonable for the portion of food you are getting. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
Fantastic ribs and killer brisket, this is a must stop to eat! Good choices of local beers as well! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: Good choices for those who are lactose intolerant.
Server was amazing, had no problem recommending and highlighting what she really enjoys. So we ordered a few things that she highlighted and wow wasn't expecting it to be that bad. Spent just over $30 for 3 meats (incredibly small servings) 2 sides, only thing that was hot was the Mac Cheese. The Mac Cheese didn't even taste like anything, paid an extra $1 for brisket which was not only at most lukewarm but super dry (had to chase with beer), the thin ribs were so dry and the chicken was a little I mean little juicy (compared to the others, didn't take much) but no smoke note and the skin wasn't even crispy. The only thing that truly looked like it had a smoke ring was the brisket. The fries were anything but crispy, they were cold and soggy. It honestly felt like I was served food that was maybe 2-3 days old. Not a place that I'd recommend Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–40 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

This is an award winning bbq place! And it deserves awards! We ordered a huge array and I have loved everything! Full slab rib plate juicy tender ribs with really sensational seasoning and light sauce. Love the house bbq sauce our order came with. Basket of cornbread really dense cornbread which is unusual but I like the taste and texture. THREE meats pulled pork melts like butter in your mouth so moist. 1/4 BBQ chicken leg nicely done Smoked sausage a nice option. Handcut fries I wouldn't say I'm a fan, these were too mushy for me. Large potato salad yes go for this all the way! It was a really nice side. Lots of onions though so if you don't like that well too bad. TWO meats Beef Brisket falling apart so delicate and good 1/4 BBQ chicken breast again nicely done Large Mac n Cheese a little spice hit I enjoyed but the kids didn't like it. Orders online and it was done right on time for pickup. Noticed a few seats inside. Dark interior vibes.
Easy to order online. Was ready ontime. Cornbread was delicious. Brisket was dry but super tender. Chicken breast was not as good as chicken leg. Pulled pork was good but also needs sauce which was fine as they gave a Ton of great BBQ sauces on the side. Ribs were 10/10 so tender, and flavorful. Overall super happy with the food, portion, and price.
Ordered two meat plate with brisket and ribs. The side were potato salad and Mac&Cheese for 25CAD. They do not have beer on tab. The ribs is dry and brisket is insanely dry, just look at the picture, the brisket is in grains when touch, and the moment you chew it would stuck to your tooth. At least they are self aware enough to provide toothpicks on the table. I'm just speechless with the quality of the food, I smoke brisket myself and brisket is somewhat forgiving to cook, you can mess up pretty hard and the meat will still somewhat be juicy, I just curious who's behind that kitchen and how can you smoke your brisket and make it the moment you touch it turn to grains. They are on another level of bad, I would not serve this brisket to my worst enemy if I'm the chief.
Today, I ordered food from this restaurant. The French fries were cold and unpleasant, the coleslaw had no flavor, but the ribs were enjoyable.
The food received a 1/5 rating. The pulled pork sandwich was dry, and the meat plates (with beef brisket, German sausage, and ribs) had brittle meat that seemed reheated. The fries were regular bar style with skins, and the mac n cheese was creamy but overwhelmed with black pepper. The portion sizes were small, and the honey mustard and BBQ sauce were not up to par. The ambiance was also lacking, with food served on trays reminiscent of a school cafeteria. The presentation was subpar, with meat placed on sheets of paper and wooden tables and chairs that were not well maintained. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations for a restaurant in Halifax.

BBQ or Barbecue lovers must head to this place in Halifax. The food tasted as good as it looked. They know how to get the seasoning right and how to cook them perfectly. Pork Brisket was melting in my mouth and the Chicken leg was delicious grilled. The Ribs was smoked fine and the sides were great too. Poutine is excellent along with Mac and Cheese. Coleslaw was fresh. Staff are friendly and helpful. Service was quick. The place was full and buzzing. Value for money. We'll definitely go again.
My love and I stopped into Bonehead's BBQ for dinner today as it has been sitting, taunting me across the street from his apartment all week. Nice little place. Cute small-time family atmosphere. Max seating for the restaurant seems to be about 20. Prices are reasonable. I had the brisket, rib and sausage plate which came with a mountain of French fries (seem to be a staple here and ordered Cole slaw and potatoe salad as a side. (Planning to take home for snacking later. Cost was about $18CA/pp. The brisket was great, more moist than lean which is just the way I like it. Being from South Texas the sausage wasn't as hardy and spicy as I'm used to but still good and tasty in its own right. There were three sauces on the table; a hearty, a sweet and spicy and a mustard. I passed on the mustard but the other two were very tasty although I would consider neither to be spicy or hot. Again, that opinion is based on my South Texas taste buds. All in all a good little eatery that I won't hesitate to visit again when in Halifax.

Boneheads recently catered my wedding and everyone raved about the food. Showed up promptly with the food well wrapped to travel a half hour out of Halifax the portion was also way more than I expected and we had leftovers for days.
We got the 3-meat combo: double order of ribs and sausage (they had run out of brisket and chicken). Ribs were great, sausage was good. Sauces were delicious (especially the gravy), tasty cornbread and coleslaw. They forgot several components of our order, which we checked before we left. They were apologetic, but just FYI to check your takeout bag before you leave.

Boneheads lacks vegetarian options, and corn cake with honey whipped cream lacked flavor, tasted like soft raw corn. ?
Disappointing experience. Not “moist tender” as advertised. Not fresh and mostly overcooked.Meat was dry and the BBQ sauces in display didn’t help as well. They also take cash but don’t give change…It was like they had the food already cooked and just reheated. The order was ready in less than 8 minutes, is this fast food?I even couldn’t finish the pulled pork sandwich due to how dry it was. The sandwich bun and fries was alright tho.Not a truly authentic BBQ experience.
Service: 3/5The young person with glasses provided a friendly and welcoming vibe.Nothing over the top, no recommendations, the bare minimum just like their wage most likely.Everything was ready under 5 minutes, should this be considered fast food? You have to order at the stand, nobody takes your order at the table, food items are not delivered to your table, you are called to grab your food like in the local Starbucks.Food: 1/5We experienced the following items:The pulled pork sandwich The 3 meat plate 1/4 lb beef brisket, german sausage, 1/4 rack ribsThe 2 meat plate 1/4 lb beef brisket, 1/4 rack ribsThe rib’s meat was brittle as if it was frozen and then served reheated. The german sausage was dry.The beef brisket was dry.Fries nothing spectacular, regular bar style fries with skins, semi fresh.Mac n cheese creamy, saturated with black pepper you could barely taste the roux.Portion size: palm sized portionsHoney mustard: mustard flavour is overpoweringBbq sauce: lacks body, watery.Ambiance: 1/5Food is served on a tray reminiscent of a school meal hall, gray and dull, quite fitting for the place.Food presentation leaves to be desired, you get your meat assortment placed on a sheet of paper.Wooden tables and chairs, not polished.Disillusioned by Halifax’s standards, there are wide areas for improvement.

Bonehead’s BBQ is a restaurant with great personality and customer service. We ordered our food and went to wait outside. When our food was done (very quickly I might add), the employee at the cash took the time to deliver it to us outside. The...prices were fair and the food was scrumptious and well cooked/spiced. If you’re looking for a good BBQ meal, this restaurant is for you (unless you’re vegetarian/vegan).
Pretty well pulled pork sandwich. a little clear. could use some koleslaw. the grill sauce is delicious. the French fries are very salty. too salty. the delivery was slow.
Oh my so glad I saw this a few months ago for my trip! So good! Had the half slab with baked beans and macaroni and cheese. Wow the sweet bbq sauce they have at the table is awesome! Super dinner! I am a happy...camper from Pennsylvania!
This place easily rivals the BBQ I had in Tennessee. Ribs were tender with a light basting of their home mead sauce, the chicken leg was the most tender and moist I’ve had in any restaurant, and they serve a red cabbage and apple cole...slaw that is house made. Left wanting more, it too stuffed to eat any more.
