While some dishes, like the lobster rolls and crab Louie salad, have garnered praise for their freshness and flavor, others, such as the fish and chips and clam chowder, have attracted criticism for being bland and overpriced. The ambiance is relaxed, catering well to families, though some visitors have felt it leans toward tourist trap territory. Despite its fluctuations in food quality, many appreciate its cleanliness and the accommodating staff, making it a notable stop along the coast.
This place was absolutely phenomenal. my mom got the lobster rolls and chased them. the Greek feta dressing salad was delicious and the carrot cake was so moist and delicious. I have a seafood allergy and came first because my mother wanted to lobster. when I mentioned my allergy at the order that they were incredibly upcoming and although they normally make their fries in the same oil they use for roasting seafood, they offered me a special charge of frying in oil separated from the oil they normally use for seafood without even asking for a special accommodation! the personal was friendly and helpful and I can not recommend this place enough. returns when I am in the opposite!
We have eaten here last weekend and were surprised how the place was slipped. Maybe it's COVID-related. the restaurant was very cold. I had the fried oysters I really liked last time, but this time they were tasteless and fed. I ordered the garlic fries and got the regular fries that were not very good. julie ordered the fish chips with garlic. they liked it. portions are huge, so a few could easily share a escape. So, we think it's a mixed bag at the moment. we thought it was quite expensive for what we ordered,
I have sung here because I was looking for another restaurant with great reviews on fish n chips in the opposite, but I missed the application for this place and saw this place. So I checked the reviews for this place and it sound promising and my fam was really hungry already plus the place had customers in. the food was served immediately. Salads were fresh and I loved the thousand island dressing. it had a sharp kick. fish n chips were imo not worth the $20 cost. I had much better for less than half in the central valley where I live. the fish was bland, but they were crispy. friends were ok. the clam chowder was average tasting. the gyro meat was hard and chewing. the fried oysters were huge, which was perhaps something too big and unexpected. they were too fleshy and the person she ordered did not like them because they were so big and had not much taste beside the baked part. service was friendly and they were prompt in serving. the place where we are very clean and the bathrooms were clean.
Had a bowl with good whispers with fresh ingredients. their fish and chips really taste fresh and beautiful fried at points. her home made chili sauce is really good with the fish, taste is really unique and one of the best I had.
Stopped by on our way home from Santa Cruz, ordered the bread bowl clam chowder. Delicious! The bowl was the perfect size, the chowder was really hot, the bead bowl extracted was slightly toasted making it really yummy. This is our second time and a favorite spot in Half Moon Bay.
