Excellent as always! Today we tried the 4th of July special, a delightful hug and spiced waffle, along with the spiced dish featuring roasted peaches. Everything was delicious! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pilot Light:
I gave this place 2 chances, but it disappointed. The first time I got the huevos rancheros, and it was tasty, and pretty, but it was like soup with tortillas on the bottom and eggs on top. I had to eat it with a spoon. The second time I got the Belgian waffle, which came with some berries and was missing its whipped cream. Had to request butter and find syrup on the hutch. They are just beginning and the early results are huge imho. a great upgrade from the venerable cafe three zero, which has been standing here for years and it could not be different. pilotlight serves a very elevated breakfast (that's all we've tried, but we'll definitely be back to lunch) and some of the strongest, best home coffee I've ever had. basic speck eier toast is a cut top with thick cut speck fried crispy and griddle roasted sourdough brot on the side. I am not usually a Frittata fan, but it is absolutely worth trying a healthy part of sweet filled, fluffy eggs with a wonderful little precious stone salad. both plates came with a generous bowl of crispy made home fried kartoffeln with paprika and swirling. and this coffee! the beautiful interior is bright and airy, and of course, the rear terrace has a front seat of the hmb airport taxiway and the landbahn. breakfast for two with all this quality was about $45 in front of top. can not wait to come back, this will be our main stop to breakfast or lunch on the coast.
We were so excited when this reopened, though miss the old name 3 Zero Cafe. This was our favorite place to go and often went once a week and brought friends. Have had a long standing tradition of having their Mickey Mouse pancakes here on the last day of school for our grandchildren. But $18 for pancakes is just plan ludicrous. We'll stay home and have home made Belgium waffles with all the fixings at Grammies house. How can pancakes and a hamburger cost the same? Breakfast is what brings them in, big mistake making them so expensive.
We had been planning to visit Pilot light for quite some time now. After all we loved All Spice the first restaurant opened by Shoshana Wolff and Sachin Chopra . We finally did made it into a brunch visit on a weekday. Light traffic breezed along HW280 and reached just in time for start of their lunch service at 11.30 am. Great location just off Cabrillo highway and beside HMB airport where you can catch small fixed wing aircrafts take-off, taxi and land! Very clean and unpretentious looks of the place. And the place is very inviting with huge windows all around! After exchanging pleasantries with Soshanna who was at the ordering counter we sat down with a better half taking in the scenery surrounding us while I immersed my into my latest novel. Food came quickly. From breakfast menu we ordered the Huevos Rancheros which was served over Tortillas , much to our liking. Freshly prepared, it was perfect start We also ordered scrambled eggs with sausages, white toast and a side of Russet Potato Hash!. One word : Fantastic!!! We also ordered The $100 Cheeseburger . Very aptly named ! Farm fresh tomato slices, fresh grilled onions and a patty cooked medium rare and to perfection, I wished the burger would never end !!! Come and enjoy the ambience while savoring simple dishes prepared exceptionally well. We will be back soon !!
It was really dry and pretty bland, even the berries didn't help much. One thing I LOVED was the watermelon lemonade. I got it both times. The first time there was a hint of rosemary, it is so good. Had high hopes for the new place, but it might not get another chance from me.
We tried their huevos rancheros and the Dutch baby and everything was delicious. Love what they did with the place. Super cute inside and has outdoor seating. Order at the front and they bring your food to the table. Great local spot. We'll be back!
