One of the best real ale pubs on the Midlands and one of the most famous in the UK . 12 beers on at any one time all excellant quality . The landlord Bob is also a legend amongst the beer swilling fraternity

Since the refurb in March/April this pub is so much better. The beer is still as good as before but the toilets are indoors now and not through the beer cellar! The pork pies are very good too

This pub is a basic traditional pub and that 's where 'basic ' ends. There is an overwhelming range of ales, spirits, wines, bar snacks (including pickled eggs) and home made traditional grub to go with it. The bar staff have an endless knowledge of the products on sale and are obviously all real ale fanatics themselves. They are very friendly, polite and easy to approach. The clientèle are also very knowledgeable and friendly. There are no riff raff and no druggies in this pub. It all makes for an amazing experience.
