This place is absolutely beautiful, there are about 0.8 miles paved way to a waterfall where you can swim. Life jackets are provided free of charge near the waterfall. It felt like a quiet walk through nature and you learn about many ancient Hawaiian culture. The beautiful landscape makes this an excellent place for photos View all feedback.
Loved this amazing place. It’s also one of the must visit places in Oahu (north shore). You can walk around the valley, there are different stops you can take to enjoy the beauty of nature while your 0.8 miles walk to the Waimea falls (where you can get life jacket for free to swim in the water). The valley is like botanical garden and there was peacock at the entrance which was beautiful to watch up close.
Waimea Valley is a jewel of nature. The botanical gardens are awe inspiring with hundreds of varieties of flora and fauna. The 0.7 mile hike to the waterfall is totally worth the effort. The majestic waterfall was in full flow. While swimming in the natural waterfall pool is usually allowed, it was closed today due to the weather. The visitor center has several food and drink options, a few shops featuring unique art work, exquisite pearls, and traditional gift items. The restrooms were clean. Parking can be a bit difficult especially during the peak holiday season. Plan to spend 2-3 hours here to allow ample time to soak in the beauty of nature.
They have a website. The falls parking is past the beach parking and is free. Admission is $25 or there is group pricing, student and senior and military discounts, etc. The walk is paved and pretty easy. 30 minutes. Lots to see. The falls are so fun to swim around in. There are life jackets for free to use. Can rent a locker. Bathrooms and snacks and changing area are available too.
Fun place to go while on Oahu! The “hike” to the waterfall is all paved and easy for little ones to do! It takes maybe 15-20 mins to get the waterfall where you can jump into the water and swim right to the waterfall! It’s cold but you get used to it after a bit! They also provide life vests for all patrons!
Absolutely stunning views of the valley and the flora of the island. I must have stopped every few steps, just to take a photo of all the flowers and plants and animal worlds that strip the area. Without a doubt these my favorite stop during my vacation. Everything grows is marked so you know exactly what you are looking for. And believe me there's so much to see. I also loved the explanations of the leaders in the Hawaiian village huts. I wanted to learn more about the life for locals on the island and the leaders were so friendly and knowledgeable. I have to have a million questions and they explained everything perfectly. Please don't give this place up! You can choose to go or pay for a ride (only cash), but I promise you it is worth exploring on foot. They also have toilets on the trails and in the direction of waterfall they offer changing rooms if you want to swim in the irrigation hole, as well as a place to get water and food (accepts card and cash).
