What User doesn't like about Farm Gate Providore:
After alighting the bus at Hahndorf I made the mistake of stopping at the first shop that sold coffee and beesting for morning tea. The coffee was acceptable but nothing special. The beesting was old and the filling tasted like fake hard cream. I bought a slab of beesting, to take back to our hotel, from the German Family Baker up the road that was brilliant - just like my German mum used to make. View all feedback.
Handorf gives off a great vibe, I just wish I had more time to explore. I ordered a cappuccino and a cake - the cappuccino was fantastic, but the cake was just average. If you're looking for a great cup of coffee, this is the place to go. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and welcoming.
Lovely french vanilla slices and coffee in the main street of Hahndorf. A lovely place to sit and enjoy the passing street scene activity.
My wife and I opted for a unique lunch today and were enticed by the choices available at this restaurant. The main dilemma was choosing between waffles or crepes. With the addition of strawberries, fresh cream, and a drizzle of milk chocolate, the dish was simple yet delightful. We were very happy with our choice.
We went for coffee and ‘something else’ I had a veggie pastie and the girls had strawberries, chocolate and cream. It met all expectations and then some. The coffee was really good also. Well worth the visit!
After getting off the bus in Hahndorf, I mistakenly decided to stop at the first shop I saw that sold coffee and beesting for morning tea. The coffee was just average, nothing to write home about. The beesting I got was stale and the filling tasted like artificial cream. However, I later bought a slab of beesting from the German Family Baker down the road, and it was absolutely delicious, just like the ones my German mother used to make.
