The wait was a little long, given...that we had reservations, but the wait was worth it. The tomato soup was hot, very tasty, obviously housemade and not canned. The salads were fresh and the bread was a specialty – served with spiced goose fat, which gave real flavor to the bread and a hint of what was to come. The proprietor, Herr Overkamp, personally brings to the table and carves each goose, and watching him is an experience in and of itself. Each bird is perfectly done, and one can choose one of the two choices – breast or leg and thigh – it’s all dark meat anyway, so take your pick. The goose is served with red cabbage, a stuffed apple, and potato dumplings, and lots of gravy. Nothing was other than wonderful. It’s certainly a place to which I would like to return

Now it fee... read more Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. Due to the growth of recent years, the charm of the former country inn has completely disappeared for me. Now it feels more like a canteen or a large hotel in southern climes. The parking lot is already bursting at the seams during the week, and people who park inconsiderately everywhere can do so day in and day out without consequences. The ubiquitous advertising is also extremely annoying. Does a business like this really need so much advertising? I highly doubt it. Even looking at their Instagram posts puts me off my food. For me, it has nothing to do with enjoyment and hospitality anymore; it's all geared more towards commerce and mass appeal. The food itself is still of excellent quality, but the prices are, in my opinion, quite high. The vegetarian and vegan options, in particular, are extremely limited. Or simply nonexistent. I will completely avoid this restaurant in the future, as there are many other excellent alternatives nearby that understand that size isn't everything.

The service was incredibly friendly, and we all received our food at the same time...which isn't always the case, as it was very busy. A big thank you to all the staff, especially the kitchen. Excellent!
