What Anonym dislikes about Strap Hanger:
The last time I was there, the lighting had been changed to what felt like office lights. It was much brighter due to the use of cool fluorescent bulbs, I guess. The ambience had changed. I could see everyone clearly from across the room and they could see me. I 've eaten there a few times in the past and enjoyed my meal. This last time, I didn 't stay. We had one drink and left. I've been there well over 2 dozen times. Mostly, on Sunday to watch a game hang out with some good friends. I've NEVER had a bad bite or a warm beer. Great barkeeps, friendly patrons. If you wanna' shoot the bull to folks round the bar, have at it. You won't be disappointed stopping in for a burger, seafood bowl (on Sundays) or one of the many different specials. It does get a bit loud hectic later in the evening. Fun time, great food.
This place was really crowded! I grabbed a beer and decided to leave since there was only standing room available. The atmosphere was great, though!
This bar deserves a solid five stars because it's the place to be, no matter how long the line is or how many people are smoking. They even check IDs, regardless of whether you have white hair, a walking cane, or just one tooth left! The party goes on until 3 AM, with festivities spilling over into the Walgreens parking lot. I haven't tried the food, but the people both inside and outside are incredibly friendly. It does have a somewhat sketchy vibe, though, so I wouldn't recommend bringing your mom or baby. The bar itself is quite small, featuring a large round counter and some games in the back. In the summer, there's a patio next to the noisy train station, making it a fun spot to grab a drink while you wait for your train to the city!
What a great experience! I always look forward to visiting this place. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the bartenders are incredibly friendly. We played some pool and enjoyed delicious food that was served nice and hot. I’m a big fan of the house-cut fries, although this time we got the ends, which weren’t as great. The chopped salad, on the other hand, was fantastic! The portion was so generous that I even took some home. I will definitely return!
Place has a juke box and the use of it is popular. You'd be lucky to have your songs played but usually good music is played anyway. Bartenders are for the most part friendly. It looks a little shady at night but everyone was well behaved plus they have a bouncer for just in case. Drinks are incredibly inexpensive which I believe why it's so popular not including the food which looks delicious but never tried it so can't comment on it but based on looks I'd say yummy looking. It's a dive bar that sells food and inexpensive drinks. If you like that come here. If you're reading this hit the like button hope this helped. I stopped by for lunch on Thursday and found plenty of seating at the bar, as well as some tables in the back. They have a nice selection of draft beers and a large fridge filled with bottled and canned beverages to choose from. The server was very friendly and attentive, even while getting ready for the day's service. They offer daily food specials for just $6, which are a fantastic deal. We tried three of them, and all were quite tasty and generously portioned for the price. Besides my group, there were only four other customers, so I can't say much about the atmosphere, but I suspect it gets livelier when more people come in.
Fantastic dive bar offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The drinks are also fairly priced, and the atmosphere is filled with great energy. It's definitely a place worth visiting if you're in the area!
I stopped by this restaurant on a whim and had a great experience. The bartender, Amanda, was really friendly and attentive. The bar area is spacious, featuring a pool table, a jukebox with good music, TVs, and outdoor seating. The food was enjoyable as well. Just a heads-up, the bar is conveniently located right next to the NJ Transit train station (Anderson St).

Excellent atmosphere and service! This is definitely a spot to catch a game, reconnect with friends, or even meet new ones. They offer a pool table and a good selection of bar food. It's a good idea to call ahead and make reservations on busy drinking nights or holidays.

Place is ideal for cold beers and drinks. Bartenders are amazing and friendly. Food is great. Wings are fleshy with 6 different flavors and big blue cheese dressing. Cheeseburgers are big and come home with cutries made. They also offer great specialties on boards and seafood Sundays. Lol much to write about seafood specialties. You have to do it for yourself. Kenny the owner can always feel welcome.
I was introduced to this dive bar about a year ago by a well-known person in the community that 's in law enforcement. As a consistent customer of this establishment that has personally gotten to know most of the staff and the owner, I can say this place deserves nothing short of 5 stars! I think having a business in the community comes with some additional responsibilities than making sure your food is served right and drinks are good. This establishment has supported many other businesses in the community, as well as held fundraisers, provide food for fundraisers, given monetary support for cancer victims, and Parkinson 's disease, fed the homeless, and families suffering from tragic accidents such as fires, supporting children going back to school and the local police and fire department! All without wanting any recognition for it! He can be quoted saying it 's not about me, it 's about the people . Thank you Straphangers for making my first year frequenting your business a great one. Congratulations on your recent 10-year anniversary of being a part of this community and I am confident your next 10 years will be even better!!!
