What Gus V dislikes about Chit Chat Diner:
I had their breakfast and it was good but went for dinner and ordered the sampler and was tasteless also charging 20.00 for a Long Island Iced tea is ridiculous when it's not top shelf liquor. Food and drinks are overpriced compared to other better places in the area. View all feedback.

Very average diner. It is a cool spot to go to late night when nothing else is open. Food is overpriced in my opinion but there are a lot of options.
Really good food, staff is helpful and considerate. The Decor is really nice as well.

As a mechanic who works the 'odd ' shift I used to enjoy going to the Chit Chat Hackensack to eat once or twice a week, after work. 2 things stand out for me as a detraction from my further visitation. 1 the music has got to stop! I do not want to go to a diner in NJ to hear Spanish music blasting while I 'm trying to eat. 2 The price and service that comes with it. A I 'm all about diversity and ambiance, but I can 't find anyone I work with that wants to hear that music blasting away at 10pm in a place where the music at best should be "white noise ' in the background. It doesn 't need to be Muzak, contemporary mainstream would be fine. B The prices for what you get are not worth the visit Paying $67 (tip not included) for an omelet a sandwich and 1 drink is crazy. Especially when all I hear is Spanish being yelled all over the restaurant and my server still gets the order wrong half the time. People behind the counter too busy being on their phone instead of addressing the client. It 's sad to see it went so far downhill I blame Management! Ownership needs to take some blame on this too! I am not alone in this opinion, as customers I was dining next to, and also some of my co workers have commented on the same things. Sorry to say I will be going to Wawa or trying to find another place to grab some food from now on unless I hear they change this stuff up.
Food was good and you have many options and large portion sizes. The quality is not 100%, though. I felt like my eggs and hash browns lacked basic seasoning and I had to keep adding salt and pepper to it. Pancakes were delicious but very sweet tasting, almost cake-like. Chorizo hash and eggs had more flavor but still was lacking salt. Might pass up on it next time around.
Chit Chat Hackensack has received a mix of reviews lately, with some customers expressing disappointment in the prices, service, and atmosphere. Some have found the music too loud and not suitable for a diner setting, while others have felt that the prices are too high for what you get. However, there are still positive reviews highlighting the wide variety of menu options, large portion sizes, and friendly staff. Overall, it seems that Chit Chat Hackensack may need to make some improvements in order to appeal to a wider range of customers.

Despite how busy they were, we received excellent service at the restaurant. The food was prepared quickly, exactly to my liking, and tasted delicious. The parking situation might not be ideal, unless they remove the Dunkin' Donuts, but that was really my only issue. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and the dining experience is enjoyable. What more could I ask for? Plus, there are funky metal sculptures located at the front of the restaurant!
I had a great experience at the Chit Chat Diner. I ordered the French onion soup, Philly cheesesteak sandwich, nachos, and a rock steak with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Every dish was delicious and well-prepared. I didn't have any issues with my sensitive stomach, so I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning. The waiter was excellent, making sure we were happy with our food without being intrusive. He even went out of his way to provide a strawberry milkshake for my friend, even though it wasn't on the menu. This used to be my go-to spot before the pandemic, and the complimentary olive oil bread is still amazing. Overall, a great dining experience at the Chit Chat Diner.

This place is a mess. The two young ladies behind the counter were incompetent and created a line about 5 parties long. Then I gave the bartender $40 for a $37 meal and she didn’t give me change. If you have any decency, Venmo me back the $3 and I vow to change my review. Service: 1
