Great service, excellent fish and chips, and the salad and soup were perfect. A great waitress, Tiffany made everything wonderful, and the cookie dessert was fabulous. View all feedback.
What Maria H doesn't like about Cap's On Main:
I've been rooting for the Cap Diner, because Hackensack definitely needs a cool, modern place for good food, drinks and a vibe. They do well on several levels: the place looks great (including big open windows in the front and outdoor dining) the bar is nice (good selection, including some great local beer) and from what I've heard, the food is good. What's missing for me is more vegan options. They used to have a ve... View all feedback.
Tiffany our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and super helpful. I truly enjoyed the warm pretzels appetizer and my parents loved the chicken soup. I had the truffle Mac and cheese appetizer as my main and it was delicious as hell. My parents enjoyed and shared the poke bowl and cavatappi ala vodka for dinner. All and all a delightful night out for dinner , will come back again.

Meh. That's how I would describe this place. I went tonight on a whim because people on here said it was good. We tried it (my partner and me). We entered and it was sort of a Ghost town at 7pm. We ordered the Winter Daiquiri... it was bitter and very tart. Not good at all. We had the Thai Lettuce Wraps, we had to wrap them ourselves. Very little chicken. They were okay. Also had the Boardwalk Fries, they were delicious. For main he got a Poke-bowl. Nothing great about it he said, was very bland and tasteless. I got the Filet mignon with Fingerling Potatoes and carrots. I asked for medium and it came out Rare. The potatoes were tasteless, the carrots same. No seasoning on the steak. Meh. The menu is all over the place and nothing compliments each other item nor the drinks. I think they need a new menu revamp and think what they wanna cook that goes together. The place had odd seating as well the booth we sat in was not accurate height ratio and very tight to sit in. I wouldn't return here unless things were changed completely
Was looking for a diner. Saw that this place had reopened. Never went to it before. Nice decor. Very sleek. Radio music playing. Didn't understand the multi tvs displaying a streaming device loop of programs but nothing playing. I guess maybe they have games on some times? Menu is not expansive. Very limited in options. Buttermilk Fried chicken sandwich was tasty. Liked the slaw they had with it. Housemade chips were good. Friend had a burger said it had good seasoning. Service was friendly and attentive.
Our friends who live above this location invited to dinner here. It just reopened after change in ownership with a new menu. The atmosphere was very nice and the service warm and friendly. We started with a pitcher of sangria that tasted like an autumn day...fresh crisp. For appetizer we had the wings that came with freshly made real blue cheese...so good! We all enjoyed our entrees (pesto pasta, vodka sauce pasta, burger, fried chicken)...not the actual dish name...and the dishes were nice size servings. Overall it met all my criteria...atmosphere, service, drinks, food, value. Metered parking but after 6pm it's free. PS next time I'll take pictures, because we will be back.
