No welcome or hello, just an odd smile... read more It's Applebee's, so I go in not expecting great service or fine dining. We are seated very fast by a young robot hostess. No welcome or hello, just an odd smile and vapid stare for us to follow her. She dropped off our menus and was gone before we even sat down like she committed a robbery. Waitress was super fast to attend to us, she was also the full time bartender and it wasn't busy at the moment so she was prob trying to bang out our order fast as possible. We got the kids the standard chicken tenders and fries that they played w and barely ate. We got a sampler platter for an app. It comes w chicken quesadilla, mozz sticks, boneless wings and spinach dip/chips. I asked for blue cheese side and honey pepper. Got ranch sweet chili of course. Not the end of the world. It was ok, ticked off the variety boxes of foods you think you want until you actually have them. For dinner, the wife got the chicken tex mex bowl I got the bourbon steak w mash pot, mush onions. For an extra $1 you can add 12 fried shrimp which is a pretty sweet deal. The bowl was pretty big, a nice bang for your buck at like $13. It came w rice, avacado, chicken, chimichurri and other hodge podge stuff of that ilk. I wanted the steak med, it came well done. It was still overall tender and had no fat which was a plus. The steak is suppose to come w cajun garlic butter. It did not. When I called her over, she knew right away what I wanted. A bit odd. So she knew when it came out it was missing and hoped I didn't know? When the runner brought the dinners, I asked for a to go box for the apps. He nodded yes and was never seen again. He also seemed to be a waiter as well, who knows. Our waitress/bartender made no effort to bring napkins or clear plates. I completely get she is swamped having to bartend and wait but that is the fault of management. She was wonderful getting anything I asked for but it does get tiring do that as well. Extra napkins and clearing the table should be automatic. I asked for 3 to go boxes, she brought them. After the fact she saw me struggling w the boxes and kids and keys ect so she asked if I would like a bag. Another example of peel the waiter onion. Yes I would like a bag, just give it right off the bat w the boxes. I more get annoyed bc you can look at her and know she's an old pro doing this for 10+ years easy. You know the drill and what everyone needs before hand. I waited tables for 8 years in another life. Give the people what they need and get it over with. Saves you grief and gets you better tips. Full disclosure, although dining was far from an amazing experience, 2 non stop noisy fidgeting unrelenting ball breaking toddlers did not help the cause while we were trying to eat. It only amplified my aggravation at otherwise minor dining issues. Anyhow, I hit my Applebees quota for the year. It's prob been 10+ years. Least I know nothings changed and I haven't missed much. Applebees AKA a sour sting? Then the name is spot on. Out!

So, we asked the hostess at the front if it was and she said yes. As soon as we sat down and asked the waitress she told us that the deal had just ended. Not sure why the hostess told us it was, as we weren't planning on eating here if it wasn't. But since the waitress was so kind to us we ended up staying and eating other food. On another occasion we ordered just a quick appetizer, a classic combo. We wait for maybe 10+ minutes and it hasn't arrived. We come to notice a group of other people be seated near us long after we've arrived. They order the same exact meal as us and they get it sooner. The other guests noticed that we seemed confused and they asked us if we ordered the same thing since they were shocked they got their food so quick (they got their order maybe 1-2 minutes after ordering) They even asked if we wanted it. We just let them keep it since they've already touched it and all that. We received our food maybe 10 minutes later. Mind you, this was on the appetizer alone. Not sure why this happened but we ended up getting reasonably upset. Overall, the food is good and it's what you'd expect from any other Applebees, but after these two unfortunate back to back experiences I think it's best to go to a different location. Cheers!
