Gympie RSL Club

Unfortunately I don't know Gympie so suggested RSL as meeting place, thinking it would be on par with my local Tewantin RSL for lunch. This was not the case. The restaurant had an unpleasant sour smell which had tired to be covered up by an overly strong cleaning product, resolutely in us sitting in the cafe section.I ordered the lamb roast and it was the worst I have ever tasted, if I hadn't of know it was lamb, the grey unappealing meat on my plate could have been anything. It had the taste of meat that had been sitting in a warmer for days and the other four meals weren't much better.The wait staff were efficient but the front door receptionist were extremely rude to my mother and Aunt.Will never go back.

It was late evening and our choice of places to eat was running out. We don't love clubs but the food here was excellent. We will definitely be back here if we find ourselves passing through Gympie again.

We called in here for lunch at around 2pm today Just passing through Gympie. We both had steak, chips and salad. It would be very hard to beat those steaks - cooked just how we asked for and the chips were delicious. Salad was mediocre but not being the star of the dish it didn't really matter. The service was excellent and the waiter very friendly. If you are calling through Gympie this is the place to have lunch.

After checking on TripAdvisor for something different and coming up with zilch in the area we decided to give the RSL a go...our other plans had been dashed so it was last minute. ....what a find nice decor, fabulous food...I had rib fillet birthday boy had pork ribs yum!Service excellent very friendly we decided to join so popping back ti try the roast on Sunday with discount and free birthday drink.

We came here for dinner a few times and this place has consistently been great. The ribs are delicious and so are most other items on the menu. The service is very friendly. The ambience and character are very unique.
