Hyangjeok Won 향적원 - Gyeongju

We loved the food here. We were sure everything was vegan, but to be honest, sometimes we didn't know what we were eating and the staff didn't speak much English. Everything was very delicious (and sometimes spicy) and we had a lot of food.

This restaurant serves full course menus with all vegan dishes beautifully decorated! Their Korean temple cuisine seems to be popular also among Buddhist monks and nuns. They use seasonal ingredients, while refraining from the typical spices onion, garlic, chives etc 오신채 . For me, a most stop when in Gyeongju. :

Large vegan tempel eat only a five minute drive from bulguksa tempel. friendly staff, a nice selection of 반찬 and vegan kimchi (another review from the last year says different, but they didn't tell us any fish sauce so they might change their recipe? it did not cost definitiw and I can say in the rule the difference) they also do a vegan katsu curry tailored that looks amazing and I am very excited to try later.

We came here feb 20 when we got the food, the cook came out to warn us that kimchi contained fish (otherwise I would have eaten it as it is a labeled vegan restaurant.) the other eating was all vegan and tasty.
