Pebbles Ice Cream Parlour A bit of a wait because they were so busy but well worth it. We had sandwiches and jacket potatoes, both with coronation chicken filling. Both gorgeous. View all feedback.
What JoyceShirehall doesn't like about Pebbles:
Two ladies working there looked miserable and it felt like it was a real effort for them to serve us. Not a smile or friendly chatter. Very unwelcoming. The food was okay, nothing special, baguettes with microwaved bacon! cash only. They said they couldn’t get wifi, however we got signals on our devices. Ploughman's lunch is excellent. Good fun staff, small inside but overall an excellent place for food
Stopped today and had ploughman's and cake between me and my partner. Ladies serving were lovely and went over and above for us. Cake was amazing and would definitely go back.
Read the reviews before going and the granddaughter was very excited to try one of their sundaes because they looked amazing but we were very disappointed because all it was was some ice-cream and cream on top not even any sprinkles or anything. My daughter even said that the woman who made it apologised because it looked nothing like in the picture. I had a banana split which was a banana cut up with honey ice-cream (no choices and I don't like honey) bobbed on top with cream and 4 halves of strawberry on top. Very disappointed and overpriced for what it is.
We enjoyed our visit to this restaurant, but found the small-sized gluten-free sandwiches to be slightly overpriced. We also ordered a pot of tea for two for £18, which was satisfactory. However, when I requested a pot of water to top up our tea and a little extra milk, I was informed that I could only have one small milk jug of hot water or pay for another pot of tea. Despite pointing out that it is customary to provide additional hot water with tea, especially considering the high markup on tea, the staff insisted it was a cafe rule. This left us feeling disappointed, as we have been loyal customers for 20 years. Additionally, we were given biscuits instead of gluten-free options with our tea, which we had to return. Overall, we were left feeling dissatisfied over a simple request for hot water and milk.

Whilst there, a couple arrived and parked in the space to the side of Pebbles, not a public highway as one of the ladies said to the couple who arrived there and told them to move it. It wasn’t in anyone’s way. Fine you would think, however the lady obviously had cancer and was struggling to walk. She made them move it. Such a shame as it is a lovely cottage and the outdoor area is also very nice. Toilet was clean….
