Fairbourne Chippy - Gwynedd
Fairbourne Chippy
Description
Fairbourne Chippy, a charming seaside eatery, serves a classic fish and chips experience. While many visitors praise its freshly cooked meals and friendly service, recent feedback reveals some inconsistencies. Diners have reported undercooked fish, soggy batter, and plain chips lacking seasoning, leaving them disappointed despite previous visits. However, the curry sauce and mushy peas often receive accolades. Patrons appreciate the restaurant's traditional values, with hot, wrapped meals enjoyed against a picturesque coastal backdrop. Overall, while hits and misses exist, Fairbourne Chippy continues to attract those in search of a nostalgic seaside meal.

This restaurant is perfect for enjoying a traditional fish and chips meal by the seaside. Despite arriving on a busy evening, we were informed of a 20-30 minute wait and given the option to place our order and wait with a provided phone number or wait inside with a cup of tea. We opted to wait inside and were delighted to receive our freshly prepared food wrapped in paper. The fish and chips were delicious, and the Glamorgan sausages and pea fritter were excellent meat-free options. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and added to a perfect end to our coastal trip. Highly recommend!
On Wednesday evening, we tried the fish and chips from this place. The dishes were served hot and fresh, the fish was tasty, and the portion size was generous. Ordering in advance is an option which is convenient.
