Situé au cœur de Bala, à seulement une minute à pied de la rue principale et à cinq minutes du lac, ce hostel chaleureux vous accueille dans un cadre rural authentique, près du plus grand lac naturel du pays et du National White-Water Centre. Conçu spécialement pour les amateurs de sport et les voyageurs désireux de découvrir la nature, Bala Backpackers propose un hébergement simple en dortoirs, avec des lits simples dans des chambres séparées pour hommes et femmes, ainsi que des chambres de groupe à louer. Les prix démarrent à partir de 25 la nuit, ce qui en fait une option accessible pour tous. Vous trouverez sur place une cuisine commune entièrement équipée ainsi qu’un espace salle à manger, parfait pour préparer vos repas avant de partir explorer la région. Pour votre confort, le hostel dispose également de deux salles de bain avec douches, toilettes, et d’un espace spécialement dédié au séchage de vos combinaisons de plongée ou de sport nautique. La gestion des déchets est soigneusement organisée avec une zone de recyclage. Les activités ne manquent pas autour de Bala : voile, planche à voile, escalade, kayak, équitation, randonnée, pêche, paddleboard, spéléologie, rafting en eaux vives, natation en eau libre, observation des oiseaux, sorties en pleine nature et géocaching. Le tout dans un décor naturel exceptionnel, entre le lac long de cinq miles et les sommets d’Aran, Arenig et Berwyn. Les visiteurs apprécient particulièrement l’accueil chaleureux, la propreté et la modernité des installations, comme en témoigne Stella, la propriétaire, qui veille à ce que chaque séjour soit agréable. Pour un séjour sportif et convivial au cœur de la nature galloise, Bala Backpackers est sans doute le point de chute parfait.

We went here by mistake, we assumed it would be busy on a Saturday morning and we were the only ones there, the smoothie machine was broken and they had no diet drinks for type 1 diabetics. I ordered eggy bread with cheese and I was served an on letter with two slices of break with cheese in the middle.x extremely bizarre and extremely grim. Overall bad experience. Ps the old lady in there was definitely a werewolf look at the hands!!!!!!!!!!?! DANGER BEWARE
Exploring the side streets of Bala away from the high street, came across the Eco-cafe by accident. A hidden gem of an independent cafe in Bala. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent Cheese Ham omelette and the wife enjoyed her veggie burger smoothie (the waitress even topped up her drink with the left over smoothie rather than pouring it away). Great quality wholesome food for a reasonable price in Bala. Highly recommended and we can't wait to go back.
We approached the cafe drawn in by the eco looking frontage, hoping for organic cakes and coffee. Inside its very big but we were the only ones there which meant a slight lack of atmosphere. We had a lovely smoothie and some coffees, although we noticed they were instant. Each of the cappuccinos and lattes we ordered was met with the retort of 'hot soy ' and instead we were served 3 identical coffees. A must visit for Bala.
I'm happy to see that the Eco Cafe has reopened. I enjoyed a tasty lentil chili with brown rice and salad, all homemade. It was a nice change from pre-made heated lunches. The menu offers simple options like wraps, sandwiches, baked potatoes, vegan hot pot, and soup, as well as cakes and coffee. It seems that they are currently only open for lunch, likely due to the impact of COVID-19.
I stopped by a cafe for some morning coffee, and it was an amazing find! The atmosphere was relaxed, and I had a great conversation with the interesting owner. I highly recommend this place.
