Riverside Cafe - Gurnee

I recently visited a new breakfast place that serves mostly Mexican-inspired breakfast dishes. The restaurant is run by a group of young and somewhat inexperienced individuals. The coffee was just okay, and when I asked for milk, I received cream instead. I ordered the carnitas benedict breakfast, but it arrived cold. However, the green salsa served with it was very delicious. When I informed my server, she called over the owner who was apologetic and explained that the avocado had been kept in the refrigerator, causing the rest of the plate to cool as well. It seems that the restaurant is still experiencing some growing pains due to its inexperienced staff, but there is potential for improvement. If they take the feedback into consideration, this cozy spot could become a charming destination for Mexican-inspired breakfast. The atmosphere is simple and cafeteria-like, but the staff's friendliness was the highlight of the experience.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and found the staff to be exceptionally friendly. The employees worked well together as a team, and I really appreciated the positive atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my cinnamon roll as well.

My son, whom I had breakfast this morning, 1/30, I had seen how an ad she wanted to try. open spacious area, beautiful tables well spaced, but eating was excellent! a good selection of coffee mats, tees and breakfast/lunch offers. he had veg skilled house made engl. muffins, (yes I had only egg pancakes, but all grown before place, etc. good waitress, will definitely recommend again!

Thought we would tried this place today. Never will go back. Got there at around 7am place was empty. Service was slow and took forever to get our food. Pancakes looked like crepe batter thin and no taste. Oatmeal was not cooked just some hot water on oats. Coffee was the only thing that was good. 35.00 for breakfast is unacceptable. ?
