The food was superb and the Bushwacker was to die for. However, we were there for 2.5 hours. Thankfully the walls are super interesting to look at and our waitress did her best with the short staffing. I'd recommend going for just drinks or try off hours for better service. View all feedback.
What Shane Eccleston doesn't like about The Flying Harpoon Kitchen 11 1 11 2:
The food was good. But we waited for over 1.5 hours for 2 sandwiches and a crab cake. We watched people who came in after us get served first, we watched people who came in after us get up and walk out because the food was taking so long. The best part about it, the place really wasn’t busy at all. Tables were still available, seats at the bar were free… not sure if their entire kitchen staff called in sick or someth... As a tourist would, I went to all the touristy places to eat in Gulf Shores and then happened upon this place which is more of a locals place to go.And I can’t emphasize this enough, their food was so much better!! We will be coming back here every time we go to Gulf Shores. Our kids loved it too! Abby was super awesome, and the food was just so top-notch delicious!Best place to eat in Gulf Shores!!!!!!!
Delicious food and fun to draw before getting the meal! Loved seeing the sunset too.
A super cool dive bar with great food. The up stairs may only have seating for 15 or so, if you can seat yourself. They play cult classics on the TV and sling great drinks. You can also look at this cool house next door lit up on the wrap around porch. Definitely a new favorite bar. Kid-friendliness: It is a dive bar, parental guidance be advised. Wheelchair accessibility: They had a wheel chair elevator, I am unsure if it works.
We went for lunch and everything was great! We sat at the bar upstairs and the bartender was very attentive to our needs answered any questions we had. I don't remember what I had (day drinking lost that memory ? but I remember it was delicious. I think it was fried oysters fried shrimp. My friend said his was the best roast beef sandwich he'd ever had. It was my first time I will definitely be back next time I'm in town!
This is a great place!! The service was amazing! If it takes more than 5 minutes to be “spoken” to, so what!? The food is more than worth the time it takes to prepare. I had the creole stuffed tater and my mom had a roast beef debris poboy and homemade chips. The potato came with “swamp sauce”. There was so much seafood in both it was more than worth the cost. I highly recommend!!! We will be back again and again!
